[Mk2] [NA] alternator optiona
My import rev3 N/A has had some charging issues latley. Voltmeter needle moving alot when reving high and sitting arpund half way when idling. When running with lights and radio on it needs high revs to stop the car dying. Changed the battery and no joy all i can put it down to is alternator or some...

Oh, well its been sitting just over half way and when I rev it moves up the gauge, but like I said ive taken the prev owners word the alternator has packed up, but found problems with the wiring whilst stripping the alternator off the car,

It was something I overlooked until I started taking it apart, just took the previous owners word for it. But with the voltmeter on the dash it does move the needle to around 3/4 up the gauge when revving. So the alternator is doing something by the looks of it

Just been checking out the fuse box, am I right in thinking there should be a fuse which runs from alternatornto the battery? 7.5amp?

Thanks guys, its a N/A non T top. The guys owned it for 6 years but cant afford to pay and get the alternator changed, bodyworks no issue to a degree as im a panel beater by trade, aswell as doing the odd but of mechanics so im not afraid to get stuck in, ill be looking to have it atleast on the roa...

I may have the chance to go and view a rev3 this weekend, not much info on the add other than millage at 113,115 and the alternator has packed up. Im getting into this as a long term project so im going to be looking for usual stuff when buying any car just to make sure its not a banger, no odd nois...
