That is just a £99 Chinese Freddy intercooler, but they want £180 for it...
The wheel already exists, don't tie yourself up in knots trying to reinvent it. Either re-do the chargcooler set up (this is what I'd do) or fit a boot mount intercooler

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top mount intercooler
In fairness it's the easiest option as well. Think you're overthinking the bends though, flow is flow, When my system is working it flows well. Annoyingly a header tank isn't possible. The CC core is already at the highest point apart from the wee daft filler neck thing. I'm not overthinking it man...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top mount intercooler
If you check the ATS website you'll see they did 21 pulls back to back with no heatsoak. they've posted zero actual data though, so I don't believe a word of it.. I think you should fix the chargecooler system.. it's been a long time since I looked at your original build so I've had to refresh myse...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top mount intercooler
what was the issue with your chargecooler system again? I'd love to see some actual data on that top mount kit.. I'm not convinced, it might be big, but the typical mr2 problem remains... a) you're relying on airflow in through a vent the size of your fist. b) unless you're running a modified engine...

Re: 1994 Rev 3 Turbo T-Bar - Deposit taken
I've seen this car in the metal a couple of times, it's a really nice genuine, useable car... a solid rev3 + with a forged engine and aftermarket turbo kit has got to be worth at least £5k of anyone's money these days.. add up the cost of an engine build, turbo kit, type R recaros etc and the car is...

Re: 2GR options for 400-500bhp
Had some time to scour for info today. Managed to find a BONE STOCK 2gr turbo running 22psi and making 740bhp!! The guys run it for 4 months at 640bhp (not sure how much boost) with no issue whatsoever. Unopened engine from the junkyard is how he described it. So certainly something to think about....

Re: Mr2 spider for sale in Japan
Probably wouldn't feel this way if I was able to do something with the damn thing this year. That's the main reason I got rid of mine, less than 5k miles in 4 years of ownership, waiting for dry days to get it out of the garage etc etc.. I cant see myself ever having another modified/'project' car....

Re: Mr2 spider for sale in Japan
That applies to all sorts of old cars though... Pretty much everything from the Ford camp that goes for silly money for example. I don't think anyone would say a Mk2 Escort RS2000 is a £20k driving experience. Even the "hot" Mk3 Escorts are going to stupid money now and they were xxxx whe...

Wow, Not seen you on here in a while Rob!!! Yeah 20k is mental. Do expect to pay close to 10k for a decent rev3 plus though. Becoming increasingly difficult to find them for much less. Even rev1/2 are up at about £5k these days. Just FYI my turbo made 420 at the hubs on the turbo Owen Developments ...

Re: Prices
The rev 5 turbo on that list is repaired and has 272000 km I mean who on earth is going to buy that? it will be bought by an importer/trader, given a hair cut and sold onto an unsuspecting buyer, probably. If you look for a high grade low mileage rev 5 turbo you'll see prices are on the rise. Price...

Re: Mr2 spider for sale in Japan
The prices on goo-net etc are comedy asking prices, as nice as it may be to think your MR2 may be worth something close to that (even half), if you do you're on drugs. for a real idea of what they are worth/selling for in japan you need to be looking at the current auction prices like here https://w...

Re: The Grey Phoenix..Summer update
So a bit of a set back has occurred.... when on the dyno ( start of th running in max 2k revs) A very faint knocking sound was heard so all stopped and investigated With out any way of truly seeing any thing that could of caused it, it was agreed to drop the engine and do a full strip down.. Pulled...

Re: JLW's ( REV 3 GT spec Turbo, smg Tbar ) YVS Performance Built
Haven't posted any progress in a while. Mainly because the cars been locked up all winter. I don't think Ive driven it since early December. However I'm finally looking into finishing of the engine build. Spoke with TCB parts and since I last spoke to Paul, Garrett have released the G25 series. So ...

I do have the vac line connected Rob, Should I disconnect it? Yes, while you set the base pressure, then reconnect it. The whole point being at atmospheric pressure your fuel pressure is 43.5psi/3 bar, and for every psi of positive manifold pressure your fuel pressure increases by the same amount t...

3 bar/43.5 psi is the correct base fuel pressure with the vacuum line NOT connected to the regulator.

Re: Just bought a Shed! * Pictures added!*
That looks properly rotten, if you really want an MR2 you'll save yourself an endless amount of hassle and money by buying one that isn't an MOT failure sheet away from being made into bean tins. Sadly that one is fit for the scrappers
