As it stands? I don't really know.. low enough for it to make me sad, probably too much for someone to want to come and trailer it away when there's other nice ones out there that are MOT'd and on the road (like Jim's old one, etc)

Re: TOM'S 96 Rev 3 GTS - BREAK ME UP, BEFORE YOU GO GO

Thanks for the positive comments. As the car stands now it's still on space savers in the garage, new damper still not fitted. Car hasn't been started in months

I kind of wish someone would just come and take it away so I never have to see it again to be honest!

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] fuel pump = Supra TT pump or something else?

if you haven't already seen it http://realstreetperformance.com/Fuel-Pump-Comparison-Test.html depending on how far you're planning on going the stock lines will be ok with a supra/255 pump, the bigger pumps (340lph and so on) would only be needed well above 400bhp and would require a bigger return ...

Haven't touched it for ages mate, haven't really got any interest in it to be honest. I might get a few weeks at home at the start of the summer where things may happen if it's not cold, wet or I've got anything else to do... we'll see

Re: Top feed fuel rail / injector setups

I've got a eBay fuel rail in the drawer in my garage, and a genuine sard rail on the car. The actual eBay rail it's self is ok, but the rest of the kit (fasteners, spacers and head/injector adapters) is quite poor. Don't cheap out where fuel is concerned, £150ish for a sard rail is cheap enough cons...

Re: Downshift into 3rd grinding - just had recent oil change and worse than before

If it is grinding, and not down to the cables then it may be worth trying one of the redline shockproof gear oils, I've used the lightweight shockproof before on slightly crunchy boxes with success, it's sold as 'not for synchro boxes' but opie oils recommended it and it was totally fine

Re: Owen Developments - Reformed Opinion!

What is it that you're after specifically Andrew? If it's service/rebuild then maybe try one of the other turbo specialists in the uk (midland turbo, AET turbos, turbo dynamics, turbo rebuild.co.uk etc) If it's new replacement then maybe it's worth getting a price from the states? I know sheppy has ...

China is the world's factory.. they'll make anything to any quality you want to pay for.. from the very cheapest worst tat to extremely high quality stuff. If you want and can afford/justify the money for something like a precision, or one of the handful of custom fabrication places in the UK that w...

I'd put money on Frozen boost buyng those coolers from China! I'd also put money on the cheap chinese ones being every bit as good as the FB ones. :thumleft: :thumleft: Frozenboost stuff is 100% chinesium, can be found on eBay, amazon and any of the Chinese equivalents.. not to say they won't be pe...

Re: What makes a good flowing core?

many factors affect the efficiency of a heat exchanger.. rating a intercooler/chargecooler core in the amount of BHP it can "flow" is at best a very rough rule of thumb and realistically total BS. "1000BHP core!" - 1000 bhp on what? a huge lazy engine that runs low boost and has ...

Re: Wideband or Lambda sensor?

I would be suspicious whether an NTK sensor would work with the AEM gauge, the gauge (controller) is calibrated to the sensor, which is why you don't have to do a free-air calibration with the AEM as you do with an innovate etc. that said, I know Jamie @ evotune uses an NTK sensor on his dyno , and ...

Re: Wideband or Lambda sensor?

I'm not sure what the question is? A 'wideband' is a short name for an aftermarket lambda (o2) sensor that reads in a wide range - i.e typically a 0-5v output that correlates typically to 10.00:1 afr to 20.00:1 afr (0.68-1.36 lambda) A narrowband lambda sensor operates on a smaller range and will te...

Re: MR2 Turbo and De-Cat Question

this has been covered many times before... as a grey import vehicle the mr2 with a 3sgte engine is not in the MOT computer and is therefore subject to a NON-CAT test, (for cars manufactured 1/8/1992 to 31/7/1995) assuming that you've removed the cat in a way that doesn't make it patently obvious the...

Was a ballpark figure for arguments sake, FWIW my mate was paying £450 PCM on his 2016 Audi S3

I still wouldn't pay £300 a month to rent a golf

Argh , yes , forgot the pound was in the bin... Appreciate you clarifying that. I've had a proper look at recent sales price data now.. prices are all over the place, for a 93+ turbo in grade 4 condition you're going to be paying anywhere from 500,000 jpy to 1,000,000 jpy. there was a grade 4.5 rev...

Re: JDM Import Rev 2 Turbo - Megasquirt install. Anti lag. 2 step.

Although as you already have an emanage, you could easily just upgrade the injectors to rev3 540cc's, raise the boost cut and have the same performance with much less hassle than converting to rev3+ ECU/loom etc Obviously the turbo upgrade is still desirable/required.. but the electronics side of th...

I'm starting to think you are possibly right but didn't fancy paying out maybe a grand then waiting for ages. My budget is 5k at the moment so after paying the importers I have maybe 4k for a car , does that really get you anything nice on import ? Based on current auction prices and exchange rate,...
