Re: Mid life crisis solved!... I hope :)
Removed the side skirts to reveal the sills. Got busy with a screwdriver and started to make a lot of holes, both sides. http://i1054.photobucket.com/albums/s497/Jackdaniels73/Rust2_zps93da4696.jpg http://i1054.photobucket.com/albums/s497/Jackdaniels73/Rust2b_zpsb4649916.jpg http://i1054.photobucket...

Re: Mid life crisis solved!... I hope :)
Thanks Martin. How Should I be posting in future? Would not want you having to fix my future posts :D Hey Phil. Playing catchup. Be good to see the old bumper after you finish the planned mod. Been meaning to start a thread for some time. Lots of help along the way from members already to my various...

Mid life crisis solved!... I hope :)
Been a fan of the MR2 for many years. A boss of mine had one years back and always loved the styling, but never thought to own one...until November. Browsing autotrader and came across a rev2 tubby for under £800 and thought fancy something I can tinker with at weekends and use on track days. so too...

Re: Complete idiot moment tonight. Battery mounted wrong way! HELP!!!
Very helpful. thanks for taking the time and having a go at getting me further. You nailed the image, pretty much a match, although mine has no labels or anything, so that alone is helpful. When you say Battery Positive, Mine has two wires on the +ve, one being the in line fuse (blue). Do you leave ...

Battery & Alternator cut-off
No intention to race at this stage for sure, but I am preparing it for track use and wanted to apply good sense safety preparations. Thought a cutoff made a lot of sense to put in place for a few reasons. I bought one that stated it is made to FIA spec. Part is K-596, but suspect that adds little to...

Re: Complete idiot moment tonight. Battery mounted wrong way! HELP!!!
For sure. Especially when the leccy bit is where I'm least confident right now. With each mistake my knowledge is getting there. Definitely got away with it this time.... Still scared to have a go at putting in the Battery cutoff as I know you need to isolate the alternator and the battery, otherwis...

Re: Complete idiot moment tonight. Battery mounted wrong way! HELP!!!
Thanks for the encouragement chaps. Took a few days longer than I expected to get hold of a 120a. But pleased to report all is good now fuse is in. Will run full checks tomorrow to be 100% sure. Complete FAIL seems to have been avoided.. Phew  . Total idiot moment and one I will not repeat in ...

Re: Complete idiot moment tonight. Battery mounted wrong way! HELP!!!
In-line fuse all good. Looks like the 120a fuse has blown. Replace tomorrow and keep fingers crossed it did not fry anything else.

Complete idiot moment tonight. Battery mounted wrong way! HELP!!!
](*,) :pale: No other explanation than complete brain failure after sorting out frunk. School boy error and managed to terminate battery wrong way around. Result was as expected. Pop and bang from + inline fuse and a click or two from what I think was passenger side. Disconnected all pretty quickly,...

Re: MR2 - Completely dead. No power to anything at all. New Battery!
Peter, As always, invaluable feedback.
The fuse itself was fine, however the blue cable had a split in it. Removed offending break and soldered new terminal end and all is well once again.
Back to the job in hand!

Re: MR2 - Completely dead. No power to anything at all. New Battery!
All checked out present and correct unfortunately. Since been down local Toyota with the wiring diagram to see if they could help. According to the wiring diagram their is a fuse called H-Fuse MAIN that sits down from the battery positive connection. Beyond this fuse is then feeding the frunck fuse ...

MR2 - Completely dead. No power to anything at all. New Battery!
Very odd. Had disconnected the battery as car had been off road for some body work. Reconnected battery and nothing at all. Went out and bought brand new battery but exactly the same result..No lights or anything. Using volt meter checked battery and output is a solid 15v, so as would be expected. R...

Quick Release - Door Kit
Thanks Ashley. Not sure if hinge pin's differ by year of manufacture, but on my 1994 MK2 the hinge pins are pressed both ends, so only way for me to remove was a clean cut through centre and then pushed out easily, but in that case not reusable. Like in the vid. I'm no engineer so may have missed so...

Quick Release - Door Kit
Hi all, Recently had my doors off a number of times and its been a task each time to undo all the bolts and then get the re-alignment. Even more so without the Toyota workshop tool. I then came across a simple mod that enables you to remove the door in a matter of moments and without losing the main...
