Re: 5SGTE Build Complete

Cracking build mate. I know exactly what you mean regards to building your own engine. Sense of achievement is worth it but yeah theres always some nerves there too :) I would do it again in a heartbeat. Including the day after day where you will talk to no one while you work out clearances and meas...

Depends what exhaust you use aswell though for boot mount.

Chargecooler might not be as expensive as you think. Im currently in the middle of gathering stuff to make up my own

Re: What's your intake temp at cruising and heavy boosting?

Highest i have seen on mine is 64 iirc after a few hard runs. I have a gt3076 at 1.6bar and ebay sidemount. Even that is way too high for my liking.

Cruising around it never really goes above 40.

Re: Estimated power projection?

So i take it your meaning you cant get 8.0:1 or 8.5:1 pistons so going for 9.0:1?

Its a big change and means your whole build plan will change. 8.5:1 cp pistons are easy to get here in 86mm, 86.25mm and 86.5mm. I used 86.25s

how to test standard bov rev 3 turbo.

My car has developed a strange issue when on boost. It seems to be holding back at about 5k upwards. Its not a missfire or that as it doesnt splutter but just seems theres a lack of power and you can feel it not wanting to pull. All ignition components are new and the fuel is v power as it has alway...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] big power gains advice please

A GT3071r might be working very hard to give you that sort of power but it all depends on charge temps and supporting mods. As ashley says, atleast consider a 3076 or even a 35 series. They wont have to work as hard therefore they will not be blowing as much hot air as a 3071 and you have some headr...

Trying to weigh up my options here wether to get the box rebuilt or find a good second hand box. Where can i get it rebuilt and how much is it roughly...
