Yeah 11.5 would be borderline lean.
I use innovate because it has aux outputs so i can plug it in my datalogit.
Its not needed calibrated yet but if it does then its hardly rocket science

Its the bit that comes out the box that the shaft bolts to with the 6 bolts. Its got a bit play in it. Box rebuild i think

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Knocking noise from wheels/transmission
Pretty confident the noise is the near side rear wheel bearing although they temd to make a constant grumbling noise and not a knocking/grumbling noise.... unless mr2's are different from other cars. It seems to be very loud at 40mph. Going round right hand bends its there but go round a left hand b...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Knocking noise from wheels/transmission
Not sure if you mean the inner cv's or not shep i know they are weak at that power might be them aswell mind you. But i mean the support thing that bolts to the block down near the alternator. The solid shaft comes out the diff casing and is attached to it.
There is some play on the solid shaft

[Mk2] [Turbo] Knocking noise from wheels/transmission
My car has developed a knocking noise. Almost the same noise as a loose wheel would make and it is a repeated noise so something to do with rotation (its not a loose wheel btw), it starts around 30 mph and seems to be louder when im slowing down and not on the throttle. Have checked all the wheels f...

Make sure they are clean from cv grease etc and just put them in tight. Go back to them after a week or so and just nip them up again if needed

Re: Im new to this and need advice
As the others have said. To get that sort of boost you need to spend big. I wouldnt take a standard ct turbo anywhere near that level.
You can achieve it with Garrett turbos etc but if your gonna buy a Garrett and run it at that pressure then you will need to spend big on supporting mods.

Re: Rev 3 CT20b or Garrett GT28
If your not chasing power. A GT28 is a good turbo to go for. I think you get a 2860., 2871, 2876. You can possibly get a 3071 aswell so theres plenty to choose from but its not just a case of throwing on a turbo and all will be fine. You need to determine where you want boost to start and how much b...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Wobbly rear end!
Check the rear arms are securely mounted to the subframe and also the ball joints are all good at the other end.
Other than that. Just go over everything making sure its in and tightened properly. Two bolts that bolt shock to the hub aswell.

Re: kev's beast from the far east
Done a log in 3rd gear today. This is what I got in terms of A/F ratio, IMO the map is moving down to the bottom (high load) far too quickly. Running a little rich aswell. Highest knock reading was 35 at 6000rpm. There is nothing else above 20 anywhere else. Basic PIM Volt was 4722 which is obviousl...

Hopefully the chargecooler fixes it as im putting it down to inlet temps and timing being pulled What do the logs say? You have a datalogit, so hook up FC edit and collect a log :thumleft: Done a log in 3rd gear today. This is what I got in terms of A/F ratio, IMO the map is moving down to the bott...

Well see I was chatting to Paul(Woodsports) today and he would expect it start aswell on those compression figures, plus my turbo would help alleviate some of my low compression. I'm def putting another engine in it but no point when there's something electrical stopping the one I've got. Don't wan...

Re: Any MR2 Turbo Specialists in Scotland?
Is the CEL bulb one of the main 501's? Last owner had chavy blue bulbs which were so dark compared to standard white 501's, so I replaced the lot. No. Smaller, same as other dash indicator bulbs. Just change for a known good one like oil or alternator. CEL light was slightly loose. Papped it in. Br...

Some great work you have going on with your motor there, Top marks for getting stuck in to it yourself too. I know exactly how you feel with it, so many times I was one step forward and two steps back. But by hanging in there and plugging away at it you will have one hell of a car come the end of it...
