Petrol tank removal
We're trying to get the petrol tank out to replace the fuel pump and fix the fuel guage as we already have the engine out. One of the lines is proviong difficult as we can't seperate it. I've attached a couple of pictures of the junction that is proving difficult. You can see that the smaller nut he...

Re: Mystery hose
Here's some more pictures of the mystery hose, maybe somebody knows what it is. It's in a really awkward place to get a photo so they aren't the best. http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p592/Oortam/IMG_20150118_121701_963.jpg [/URL] [/img] http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p592/Oortam/IMG_2015011...

Mystery hose
We're in the process of fitting a rev 3 engine in a rev 2 car. We're nearly there but there are a few differences. There's a hose which is attached to the underside of the inlet manifold which we don't know what it's for/where it goes. Can anybody help with it's identification. I've attached a pictu...

Aye I'm from Linlithgow. It's good to know that the other Scots are helpful. It's a steep learning curve with these cars. They're lots of fun tho' aren't they.

What is this sensor?
I've attached a couple of pictures of a sensor. Anybody know what it is? This is really on behalf of my son, who can't post from work. http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p592/Oortam/20141221_184735.jpg http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p592/Oortam/20141221_184749.jpg He'll be along soon to add so...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] mr2 turbo coolant pipes?
Where about in Scotland are you? I had this happen to me. It happened when a garage in Falkirk was checking it over and they replaced them with 19mm rubber hose. The mechanic has had an MR2 for years so he didn't waste time trying to repair it. It didn't cost a lot for them to replce them.

Re: Newish member
Pictures will be coming, once I've had enough posts to allow me to post them. The car is in bits just now with the engine out and being worked on. Pictures will come once it's finished. Who am I kidding, it'll never be finished as we'll always think of another modification to do!!!

Hi all,
Just a post to say hello. I got a rev 2 turbo earlier this year with my son as a project/track car. So far it's been off the road more than on it but that will hopefully change after the replacement rev 3 engine is fitted. More later.

Re: Bottom pulley removal
Just to update. I used a crowbar to lock the flywheel ring gear and then a socket on the pulley bolt with a bar. I then used a heavy hammer to shock the bolt and it worked. I then used a bar with two holes matching the threaded holes in the pulley with two bolts to jack the pulley off, similar to th...

Re: Bottom pulley removal
I don't have a flywheel lock tool. Where do I find what the Toyota SST looks like and I'll try and make one. I'm guessing it locks against the ring gear.

Bottom pulley removal
I am working on an engine to replace the knackered engine in our rev 2. The replacement engine (rev 3)is in the garage getting tidied up before we fit it in the car. I'm going to replace the timing belt but am stumped how to get the bottom pulley off. The gearbox is off the engine, sio how do I lock...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Question about rear drop links with BCR coilovers on turbo
Thanks for that. I was just concerned as I had to rotate the anti roll bar down to fit the standard drop links and the way they fit are so much different to the way they fitted to the first det of drop links. Pictures would tell the whole story.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Question about rear drop links with BCR coilovers on turbo
Myself and my son bought a MR2 turbo to use as a track car. It needed a bit of work done to it and we're nearly there getting it back on the road. We recently fitted BC Racing coilovers to our turbo but one of the allen sockets on the end of one of the rear drop links had rounded off so we couldn't ...
