Looking good! I believe I spoke to your dad on the phone a few times. £1500 all in is a good price! Certainly cheaper than I could do. Any goodies added at the time? I do quite strongly disagree with the running in process. Hearing 'take it easy for 1000m' worries me. Often that's how long your war...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] My new toy! UPDATE: Steering wheel mod!
Planned mods: - Windscreen strip - probably matte yellow - Custom seat covers - been quoted £200 to fix the worn bolsters on the driver's side, and £500 to fully cover both seats, so I'll do the latter when I have the cash. Probably re-cover them in full black leather with yellow stitching. Nothing ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] My new toy! UPDATE: Steering wheel mod!
OK so a few mods down the line: - Complete engine rebuild. The bottom end went kaputt because of a recurring problem with the turbo oil feed pipe cracking. This time it went and dumped all the oil out at once, resulting in a fun seize on the motorway with about 3 seconds of warning (smoke and oil pr...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Advice needed identifying engine oil leaks
I had a problem with my cam seals recently... only it wasn't the cam seal, it was some numpty hadn't done up the bolt holding the cover on and it was loose and rattling about! Suggestion - check all bolts are tight if the seals are new.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] My new toy! UPDATE: Steering wheel mod!
My new wheel arrived yesterday! Yay! So, I set about fitting it today (I was at the Autosport show on Friday and Saturday). Here was my old wheel: http://imageshack.com/a/img571/7963/fqy5.jpg And here is what I bought: http://imageshack.com/a/img38/3291/2wha.jpg So the first problem which you may or...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oil seals keep failling... HELP
Update! The cam cover came off as the leak appeared to be coming from the seal... and a bolt fell out. Happy days, it looks like it hasn't rattled about in and around the camshaft or anything silly! Although it was probably about to. Bolt tightened, back in, seals are fine -> no leak! Will pressure ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oil seals keep failling... HELP
As stated previously, I play with motorcross engines as that's what's in my Superkart with accompanying carb and mechanical fuel pump :) But obviously the fuel pump here is electrical and the disconnection of the EFI fuse will prevent any and all fuel being pumped into the cylinders I guess? (learn...

My Superkart is probably worth 5 times what my MR2 is worth! So I hear ya.
