OK. I've been reading up on this. It looks like I was boosting 0.8bar before as the tvsv was bleeding off the air giving standard boost for a rev 2 turbo. By disabling the tvsv (blocking the pipework) I've brought this down to the standard 0.6bar which is what you get when engine is cold and tvsv is...

The problems has seem to have started since I blocked off the tvts. I've checked and can't find any boost leaks.

Gonna have the controllers apart to have a look.

Just spent 2 hours running up and down the dual carriageway adjusting things with no luck. With the non eBay MBC it has large boost spike to 0.8 bar then settles at about 0.6bar the most.not much adjustment. Yep...usual rev 2 ecu blown capacitors.
I had same.problem and a guy called Chris d sorted mine out.

Replacing the capacitors is easy, its sorting the corroded tracks that the goo has caused can be the problem.
