Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Ringland common cylinder that goes?

You might want to run some octane booster as a minimum or something like meth injection to raise the octane rating.
Id def be changing out the fuel pump too.

Or the other more expensive option is to go standalone ecu and get it mapped for 95ron though you would be losing quite a bit of power.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Ringland common cylinder that goes?

Id be thinking if its failes on a standard setup then id be looking at the fuel pump. These weaken over the years and prob didnt provide sufficent fuel.

Also if it had been suffering detonation then was the correct fuel being used (normal unleaded instead of vpower etc)

Re: PETER GIDDEN, the "SPECIALIST". :(

I think peter should be responding to the other negative threads too. There seems to be too many unanswered feedback here.

I also wonder if the mod team should be thinking bout banning this trader if its proved how bad his workmanship really is.

Keep us up to date with what else he finds. It maybe possible that he has put other uprated pumps in other cars so maybe worth checking too. What does he trade as? If its sbits then the most that will happen is he will shut up shop and just reopen under a different name. You find a lot of poo garage...

Re: Forge Day Castle Combe 8th september

Im very disappointed in the response to this.

Imoc and oc was such a good community but it all seems to be going the way of fb now which is a shame as forums are a great source of info.

I can only put it down to more and more mr2s being broken and owners moving on to more modern cars.

You have decided against it (for your own decisions which is fair enough). So go stamp your feet in the corner. Is it only me who is getting bo...

I got mine from ebay. Exactly the same and cheaper so you may want to lower your price.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Does the fuel pump prime with ignition on?

My fuel pump doesnt start until the dash lights are on (starter or engine doesnt need to be on) which i call click 2 (click 1 is stereo on, click 2 is fuel pump whirrs for a few seconds and heaters on and dash lit up and click 3 is the starter) I suspect an old alarm/immobiliser would have cut into ...

Might be worth starting a new thread for the civic craig.
Your mr2 was a monster build and might be worth keeping seperate as it was a great story.

Re: Small body repair advice

Ive used 202 from halfords before. However dont use their laquer as its awful as i cant seem to get a good enough finish with their laquer.
In fact i thought their gloss black was an even better match and you can get that in a bigger can.
