Rear brake stuck after suspension change
Just took my car for a drive <2 miles after changing the suspension only to come back and find the drivers side rear to be red hot and clearly the caliper has been stuck on. To change the suspension I removed the top caliper bolt and lossened the botton to swing the caliper out allowing me to remove...

Re: Droplinks for meister r coilovers
Hi, sorry to hijack but I'm also looking at a set of these coil overs. I've never put coil overs on a car are they simple to set up? Fittings not a problem but I'm wondering if I can set them up myself on the drive or if I would have to pay a garage to do it?

Bodywork/paint work garage recommendations Nottingham/Derby
Following on from my previous post I'm looking to get a quote for rust work to be done on my car. The sills, door and rear arch need looking at. Before I just go to a local garage I thought I'd check if anyone in the Nottingham/Derby area has had similar work done and could recommend a garage that m...

Re: Rusty door change
Thanks for the info
I might find out if it can be repaired first then, it won't hurt to get the sills looked at at the same time I think

Rusty door change
My drivers side door has always had a bit of rust on the bottom since I bought it and slowly it's getting worse. I regularly have a look for a replacement in the right colour but being sonic shadow they never seem to come up. Has anyone had a different coloured door painted? I'm just wondering about...

Seat runners/rails
I'm been looking to change the seats in my car and am wondering about what the best solution is for seat mountings. I'm not too worried about anything too flash just a comfortable pair of bucket seats, I've seen branded and unbranded ones that I like the look of. I don't really want to hack up my ol...

I've only just thought to have a look for a thread on japfest2, had my tickets booked for ages but didn't realise the club had a stand haha. If there's any room or anyone drops out it would be great to get on but if not I'm looking forward to seeing some of your cars

Re: Fitting a hurley acis spacer
Finally got it out. Ended up investing in a stud removal tool I could use with an impact gun and it came straight out. Thanks for the help.

Re: Fitting a hurley acis spacer
Nice one thanks, think I'll get some new nuts as well however tight I get them they both start spinning before the stud will move (only have a spanner on the lower of the two btw)

Re: Fitting a hurley acis spacer
Thanks, I've managed to get one of the studs out but struggling with the other. Can you reccomend anywhere local in derby to get a tin of plus gas. I've got a generic penetrating oil that I've been using but may have more luck with plus gas.

Fitting a hurley acis spacer
Hi, I recently bought a hurley acis spacer (second hand for a good price on ebay) and went to fit it today and was unsure what to do about the two studs. I have the original fitting kit but not the instructions. Can the studs be removed with a set of mole grips? And if so has anyone got any experien...

Re: brake pad shims
According the the bgb the serrated one is sandwiched between the back of the pad and the larger flat shim. I recommend lightly coating each side of the serrated shim with anti seize paste (copper grease)

Re: Caliper refurbishing
I've just refurbed all 4 corners over winter. With regards cleaning up I have access to a shot blaster so used that and then painted with straight to rust hamerite paint. If you don't mind using a straight to rust paint like hamerite cleaning up with a wire wheel should do it - all depends how parti...

Re: hel braided failed mot
I've got my mot on Thursday morning and have hel lines fitted all round, I'll let you know how I get on with it.
BTW the lines are clamped where they connect to the fixed line using a home made bracket

Brake bleed nipple size
Hi guys, I'm planning on refurbing my brake calipers next week and want to get all the bits together.
Does any one know the length/thread sizes for the bleed nipples? I've seen a listing on eBay for all 4 but they are in mild steel and I wouldn't mine stainless if I can. - mk2 rev5 btw

Re: LEAKY T BARS
Is the above products to put onto new seals or will it help old seals? I have a very slight drip, was going to get the sealant out but could try this first.
