Re: Rev 2 J615 XFS black turbo
What would be a good reason for DVLA to give you the owner's details or to contact him on your behalf? I have an idea but it may not be very ethical... you could say that your car has been badly scratched at a car park in Reading and you have a witness that saw a car with that registration number. O...

Re: Painting Strut Braces
Thanks guys! I reckon it took about 10 hours in total but I'm pretty sure it can be done quicker if you have a grinder.. #-o The problem is keeping it like that. You will need to lacquer it otherwise you will be forever polishing it. And if it rains... Yeah, I'm going to apply a clear coat on Saturd...

Re: Painting Strut Braces
I finally had some time to get this done! Well... kind of.. I started sanding and noticed that the old paint started coming off fairly easy and because I had lots of 1000-3000 grit I decided to see how it's going to look like polished. Re: Mk1b insurance for an 18-year-old?
It may be worth checking how much he would pay for a policy in his name. Father + son + sports car = high premium :thumleft: I was in your son's position a while ago (it wasn't a sports though) and it was ridiculously cheaper to insure the car just by myself rather than with my dad. I ended up insur...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Engine bay temperature sensor disconnected
I have aftermarket oil and water temp gauges installed that seem work fine.
Now, I just realised that since I bought the car the engine bay temp sensor has been disconnected, is that bad?

Re: Painting Strut Braces
You're right it is quite easy as long as you stick to a few simple rules. 1. Prepare the braces by cleaning off any grease and debris with white spirit, 2. Rub down any surface defect, rust or blemishes with a medium grit sandpaper (800 grit) and finish with a fine sandpaper (1500 grit) until smoot...

The only servicing needed is to remove it and blow it out(inside to out) every so often with an airline.
