My AW11 Fritzinger widebody. Some years of work in pictures
Hi, my name is Eric and I´m from Germany, so please excuse my mistakes in the english language I´m sure of to do. I was asked to do a writeup of the story of my little Fatty ( in german: "Dicker" ) how I call my widebody Mk1a, so here I go. To explain my backround as first: I´ve learned th...

Re: Project MRX350
The inner arcs I´ve bought where the last set in stock in germany in that times. They was covered in dust and I´ve didn´t expected to get my hands on a new set and that is 10 years ago. In 2011 I had a crash with my Celica ST185 and even therefore I couldn´t get a rear quarter panel as the car is to...

Re: Project MRX350
OK, if there some interests I will start my own project thread. Due to a hard disc crash some years ago I´ve lost most of the older pictures, but I still got enough online to tell the story of the car. As the company Fritzinger does not exist anymore it´s difficult to say where the molds are now. I ...

One of the all time favorite pictures of my car was shot in that turn too:

Re: Project MRX350
In the late 80th the owner of a Toyota dealership was active in the german rally scene and was a professional race driver before. His name is Klaus Fritzinger. His company builded his rally cars themself and they also did some serious mods to Toyotas like turbo conversions for the 4A-GE and power up...

Re: Project MRX300
Now to fill these arches i'm going with my alltime favourite period wheels, Borbet A's, these wheels have a serious dish but not a lot of offset, so it's not like they hang outside of the cars original bodywork by miles, in fact the fronts only need a 3/4" extension to the arch.. I love the Bo...

Re: Thoughts on best disc/pads upgrade
I just can recommend EBC as well. Wide range of performance brake parts, fast responding support of the employees, open for custom solutions and a fast and cheap shipping, even to Germany. I had EBC Turbogroove discs with YellowStuff pads front and rear on my Celica CS and this combo worked really g...

Re: Retro stereo help...
It´s the perfect solution IMHO. No fly around extern player needed, easy to update on the computer and it evan have a headphone jack so You can use it outsite the car too. And the best: It´s cheap.

Re: Mk1b radiators?
A bit off topic, but just to let You know: Look out for the size of the radiator You will buy. The Mk1a had a smaller one standing upright in the front. The Mk1b needs a bigger radiator which is mounted laying backwards and the brackets differs too.

Re: 4AGE to 4AGZE conversion
P.s. I gather I will also need a SC engine lid? The SC engine lid is no bolt on swap. The position of the lock on the shell deviates due to the space the intercooler needs. The lock on the N/A sits left to the middle. On the SC it´s located in the center of the engine lid and the body. The lock can...

Re: Antenna/aerial location?
Than I´m wrong. But Mk1a singel sunroof definitely had the antenna in the roof and the 89 T-Bar I´ve parted out had the rear quarter one. The roof antenna looks ridiculous so I´ve welded the hole of it before the respray as well as the holes for the windshield washer nozzles. Took Mercedes Sprinter ...

Re: Antenna/aerial location?
Only the T-Bar Mk1b had this motor antenna in the quarter panel !
All Mk1a and Mk1b with tin roof and singel glas roof had a non motor teleskop antenna in the a pillar coming out of the front drivers side corner of the roof.

Re: Headlights don´t close anymore ?
But would a blown fuse not mean that the lights won´t open too ? I´m asking because they open regulary and only don´t close. But I will check it when I visit my garage again next week. It´s 15 kilometers from my home. Currently I´m working on the "new" engine in the garage of a friend as h...

Headlights don´t close anymore ?
Hello, I´m new to this board and I know it´s not gentle to start with a question that maybe was asked before, but I need advice. I´m currently work on my widebody MK1a to bring it back on the road. Stands still since 2003 with a damaged engine. Had to jump start it a few times in the past to move it...
