Re: [Mk2] [NA] N/A Rev 1-2 ECU/Piggyback advice

I've found a Unichip on ebay for next to nothing, and I'm tempted because of the price (£75 starting, £120 BIN).. From what you've said the Unichip is going to be a PITA to map though as I'll need to find a Dastek dealer who's willing to do it! The seller has had it mapped to his 300hp MR2 turbo app...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] N/A Rev 1-2 ECU/Piggyback advice

haha bet you were the only one of your mates with a properly rapid car though ;) at least a turbo swap is something to look forward to a couple years down the line! I'll check out the Link G3, cheers! :thumleft: Yep all mods declared they're after c. £1000 for insurance, which I didn't actually thin...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] N/A Rev 1-2 ECU/Piggyback advice

Well I just figured I might have gone past the point to which the stock ECU could adapt, so an aftermarket alternative may be tuned to get the most from the intake, exhaust and cams? I'd be happy with 10-15hp from the remap to be honest, I'd probably feel more satisfaction upon completion of the pro...

Ok that's cleared a few things up :)

So which of the ECU's would you go with in my situation?

Re: [Mk2] [NA] N/A Rev 1-2 ECU/Piggyback advice

Ok, is the going rate for the Power FC usually about £800? Sounds a lot for a used circuit board and a few wires  Just to confirm- Emanage and Unichip are piggyback, Apexi is standalone? I've found an emanage shipped from Australia on ebay for c. £300 - is this pretty much what I'm after? I und...

Hi,

If anybody feels they can give me a shove in the right direction regarding n/a mapping please head to the thread I've just created in the modifications subforum. Sorry for the unorthodox thread bumping

Cheers!

[Mk2] [NA] N/A Rev 1-2 ECU/Piggyback advice

I've been waiting an eternity to finally nab this 3SGE motor off my tutor at college - long story short he donated it to the mechanics dept. at college for the kids to work on etc. although they have only just got around to dismantling the car this week, and I've offered to donate my engine in retur...

Re: Cleaning intake manifold - any tips?

Thanks mate! Already had it P/C'd red months ago, but for some reason it never occurred to me that washing it out beforehand might be a good idea

Oh well, I'll use some degreaser/solvent and a small washing up brush or similar - hopefully the powdercoating won't come off!

Cleaning intake manifold - any tips?

Hi I'm Calum, new to the forum today after owning my MR2 since June last year. It's a 1990 3SGE import, just had it resprayed a nice bright red 8) I've finally gotten around to taking the rocker cover off as I want to powder coat it (plus I just wanted to have a look inside) Noticed that my TB...

Re: Designing my own NA exhaust - project.

SynXero Hi mate I've got a custom box on mine, not sure how to post pictures yet but I'll figure it out in due course  I'm selling it now as I can't get enough of the Blitz Nurspec sound (one of which is currently on it's way, soon to be adapted for my N/A) ;) If you're interested I'd be more t...

Re: Front tyre sizes, max width on 17's?

I'm running a set of 18" Jaero GT's from a Supra - 8.5 (235/40) front, 9.5 (265/35) rear. Then again the offset is +30 and I've fitted JIC coilies (with Gaz shocks as the originals died) Arches needed a little bit of rolling but it drives nicely, I'm happy with it  Thinking about ge...
