Re: What are these alloys?

I was after the same wheels a few weeks ago mate.

They're essentially copies of Advan AVS 5 wheels - expensive!

Also see Dare V2 - same design :)

Cardhore has a set of very similar wheels for sale at the moment (17") - 8J et33 and 9J et45 - if you want some now!

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Axe, Dare, XXR wheels - any good or rubbish?

Right I've taken all the advice into consideration and am off to Birmingham this weekend (hopefully!) to pick up two Rota GTR 18x10s. Seller doesn't know the offset though, and I'm betting they're actually 9" but oh well! From what I've seen Rota are half decent, so should be a good outco...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Mods

Very true! In fact I'd go as far as saying that wheels and tyres are probably the best place to start!

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Mods

Tyre pressures aren't really a mod.. To get the most from an N/A engine without spending a fortune there are only a few things worth doing: Strip the car out and save some weight! Aftermarket exhaust (often de-cat) Aftermarket induction/air filters (although there is much discussion over the p...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Axe, Dare, XXR wheels - any good or rubbish?

haha 275 sounds good to me ;)

I'd be tempted to go with 265 and 225 on mine, just to try and keep the front-rear ratio sensible

I'm sold on these XXRs now, time to raid the savings pot :D

Yep thought that might be an issue! What size tyre you running on the rears? I'm worried about how much it's gonna cost when it comes to tyre change time

Yep that's what I'm after! 18x10 et.25 and 18x8.5 et.25, although I wish they did them in 17"! :(

They must sit perfectly with wide arches ;)

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Axe, Dare, XXR wheels - any good or rubbish?

Magicbeans- Any idea how long they've been on the car for then? They are so nice... And Peter, that's what I thought! £500/600 isn't much for alloys of that size.. but at the end of the day I don't think I want to pay any more than that - have to draw a line somewhere  It's reckon for me it's g...

[Mk2] [NA] Axe, Dare, XXR wheels - any good or rubbish?

As seen on Stanced-UK Ebay page - the prices are brilliant for the sizes and offsets available, plus all the wheels look really decent (BBS reps pretty much). Are these best avoided though? If it seem too good to be true, it usually is  I'm thinking they might crumple over the first pothole, or...

Re: Rev 4 NA Exhausts

Larger exhaust and low volume don't usually go hand in hand

It sounds like you may be after a custom exhaust really, if you're pretty much just after a nicer looking back box - because as mentioned above the turbo exhaust will be LOUD

ABFLUG wide arches/flare/extensions

Hey everybody :D

I'm after a set of abflug arches (preferably used for ease of fitment). Just wanted to see if anybody knows of/has a set for sale! I'll also post in 'wanted' but I never look there which leads me to think that perhaps not many of you do either

Thanks :thumleft:
