This sounds like my issue.
I've got really low compression on cylinder 2 which increases with a wet test so I know its the rings. There is absolutley loads of oil in the intercooler piping, could that just be from rings or does that suggest turbo seals on top of rings?

A friend's car was running a dyno proven 400hp on a GT2860RS.

Personally I'd just reuse them, the nuts are obviously tight haha.
Take this opportunity to decat too, the berk downpipe will do the job nicely.

As much as I'd love to it makes no sense financially. To get it up to a standard I'm happy with it would need a fair amount of welding and a complete respray. Plan is to break it for parts and try to import one from Japan.

Thought I should probably update this thread. Sad times :( I've managed to ruin the piston ring on cylinder 2 so compression is 40psi, it had been misfiring for a while which would be a result of the ring so sadly it's most likely I have ruined the engine, the shell also has a fair amount of rust on...

You don't really need spigot rings most of the time. They usually just make it easier to fit the wheels (centre bore locates easier).

I run the same setup on mine and it suits the MR2 down to a tee. The GTR wheels are hard to find too.

Out of interest, howcome Toyota never utilised these for anything out of the factory?
