Re: Rev limit difference between revisions? (3S-GE)

On a side note we had a drag race, my rev 3 T-Bar against his rev 4 T-Bar,

I was finished about half a car in front of him, that wasn't from my launch, I actually started pulling ahead getting higher up the revs.

(We didn't have much space it was in the paddock at Curborough sprint circuit)

Rev limit difference between revisions? (3S-GE)

Thought I would pop this up as it has been puzzling me. My Rev 3 (albiet with a Celica block) hits the rev limiter at 7250RPM. Someone else I know has got a Rev 4 which revs to 7500RPM.

Both of these are UK cars. I've "offered" to test his ECU but he wasn't up for it :D Any ideas?

Re: Apexi induction question

Which kit is it?

I've got an Apexi power intake and its got a slot for the sensor. Is it definitely for an MR2?

Lovely car, guessing the 53 plate is thanks to a DVLA cockup?

Curborough Track day, 13th August

Hi, just wondering if anyone would be interested in a cheap track day on the 13th. The venue is Curborough sprint circuit in Lichfield, the track is open from 10am until about 5:30pm. There is no requirement for helmets and other assorted bits of safety gear, the day costs £60 and there is generally...

Re: So the weighbridge was open....

My rev 3 UKDM T-Bar came out at 1222kg with a full tank of fuel and a few things in the car.

To be fair I haven't got powersteering and I've got a JapSpeed exhaust.

Re: Loose passenger seat.

You have broken the captive nut off the chassis . The only way you will be able to fix it is to chisel off he cover piece of metal over the captive nut under the car , then grip the captive nut with some visegrips and undo the bolt . You will then need to get the captive nut reattached ( welded ) i...

Loose passenger seat.

Before I start this is my own fault. Basically I had removed the passenger seat, upon putting it back in I stupidly fully tightened the front bolts before putting the rear ones in. Upon attempting to put the rear one in it tightened to a point and then made a rather loud cracking noise. Currently th...

[Mk2] [NA] Turbo clutch on an N/A

Just looking at the clutch options available for the 2' and it got me wondering, would it be possible to run a Turbo clutch on an N/A I'm guessing not however if it was it would stand up to more punishment I imagine?

Re: Flushing brake fluid.

The pads are fine, in an emergency stop (I tested this earlier) they bite hard enough to trigger the ABS (and produce a lot of tyre squeal). They also have loads of life in them, just the fluid that needs doing.

And yes they are EBC Redstuff, I've been very impressed with them. (Carbotech next time)

Flushing brake fluid.

Right o, I appear to have cooked the brake fluid in the 2'. Before I pull the trigger on some DOT 5.1 fluid I just wanted to find out how much I will be needing to completely flush the system.

Will 2 litres be enough?

Re: Sell or break?

I wouldn't say that. To be honest I would say sell it, there is bound to be someone who will buy it. Unlike someone who is breaking a perfectly good rev 3 turbo, I think it is a crying shame to see these being broken for parts, they are never going to be worth large amounts of money so no point tryi...

The pedal goes solid and it doesn't feel like the brakes are doing anything.

I didn't really look, I was too busy looking at the tyre wall I was heading into and thinking "bu88er, this isn't my car"

Re: Brakes not working during a spin.

Nope, generally I manage to get the clutch in as soon as I feel that it has let go, yesterday even when I went into the tyres the engine was still running. Only time I ever let the engine cut out was the first time I spun my own, and then it didn't want to start straight away.

Re: Brakes not working during a spin.

I've found in both mine and the rev 4 I drove yesterday that the pedal became impossibly hard to press (spun 180 degrees and was rolling backwards).
