Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Another week another problem......

Ouch. They need to get less brute force and more heat. I've NEVER snapped a turbine outlet bolt. They're not going to be easy to drill and retap. Hope they're not charging you![/quote] No they said i wouldn't be charged luckily. I'm not sure what the plan is, wouldn't it be possible/viable to just d...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Another week another problem......

Yep, exhaust manifold does not need removing, lucky they never snapped a stud in the head. Edit, re-read......3 snapped studs :( Just an update spoke to garage today and I miss heard them, they haven't removed manifold so slightly better news, the bolts that have sheared are the ones joining turbo ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Another week another problem......

Is it a common failure that hose from hell or is it caused by something specific? I wouldn't of thought the manifold needed to be removed but it's too late now unfortunately, that's the trouble with garages that aren't to familiar with mr2s I suppose.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Another week another problem......

So after getting my leaky t-bar fixed last week this weeks problem was rather dramatic, was driving home from work and as soon as I stopped in the car I noticed plumes of smoke pouring from the engine bay so much that I thought it was on fire, luckily it was steam, turns out a small 3inch long rubbe...

Re: Poxy leaking t-bar

touch wood I fixed the drivers side leak using the silicon trick. I have a bead running across the tbar glass parallel to the roof seal and now it only drips slightly and only when driving in the rain, proof I suppose that tbars do indeed flex on the road. Not heard/thought of that idea before, mak...

Re: Poxy leaking t-bar

Thanks for the advice guys. Suppose it's time to part with some more money and buy new seals. Just read a how to guide on here doesn't seem too bad of a job sure it'll try my patients a bit tho, we will see. Don't suppose ne1 knows part numbers for drivers side do they? Gonna do my side first I thin...

Poxy leaking t-bar

As you have probably gathered I'm close to breaking point now with my damn t-bar seals leaking. Didn't start off to bad when I first bought the car only let a few drips in during heavy rain now it just pours in during a light drizzle. Have tried the silicone trick with not much joy. Before u all say...

[Mk2] [Turbo] right ecu?

Had my boot carpet out this weekend to dry it oit and fix a leak and happened to notice my ecu had a sticker on it saying 3S-GT probably a stupid question but is this the right ecu for a rev1 n/a car that has had a rev1 turbo engine put in it? Just thought it would have said 3S-GTE to match the engi...

Spoiler query

Hi all been a while but since having all this rain recently iv noticed my boot liner is soaked iv established the rain is getting in where the bolt holes for the spoiler go through the boot lid, is there supposed to be a sort of gasket/grommet in between the spoiler and boot to stop this? P.s it's a...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Headlight bulb query

I take it they're aligned properly? And not pointing at the floor? I've got OSRAM Night Breaker Plus which are A LOT brighter than standard. I think any thing brighter than them and you'd be looking at possibly HID's which aren't legal in standard headlights. Yes there aligned as they should be, ju...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Headlight bulb query

Just wondering what's the brightest headlight bulbs I can get for my rev1. Iv already put a set from halfords in which claim to be 30% brighter than normal but in the dark the headlights are still less than useless. Cheers in advance for suggestions :thumleft:
