Ive been reding alot about this too and get lots of mixed opinions.

One thing that makes me think that its a good idea... is that i recently see under the bonnet of the current btcc honda civic in which every pipe including the airbox was wrapped in gold heat reflective tape.

Bringing this one back up... went to the btcc at croft yesterday and had VIP treatment with honda yuasa racing. Which was a fantastic day!! :mrgreen: Any way back to the point. Seems steep mine is as a second car on 3k a year with mods im 27 max no claims clean licsense and i pay £280 on classic policy!!

Mines fitted in the same way apart from the left lap belt. I was going to drill the floor but struggled to find a good flat and didnt really want to drill the floor. So I used a 90 degree metal bend bolted to the seat base where it bolts to the floor, with the eye bolt attached to that. Simillar to ...

Thanks peter if im honest I think the timing is fine , but its in my head that it may be out. Yeah taking the rocker off is probaly easier than the top belt cover any way. I found the cam marks very difficult to see with the engine in the car . Is using the bottom pulley mark on the belt cover ok to...

If im honest bob .. after i done the belt i checked the timing, after i turnt it round twice and the exhaust cam seemed half a tooth out ... as in where the hole on the pulley lines up with the cam tooth ... it wasnt the tooth before but inbetween the two. Do you think this will make much of a diffr...

Ive got an hks one sitting about anyway ... so thanks for that . I had a diesel merc keep up with me the other day so dont think its me getting Used to it :pale: Ive done the cambelt etc replaced the plugs and set the ignition timing. Ive a rev3 turbo with supporting mods intake exhaust decat etc... But something dosent feel quite right in the power delivery.. Im not sure if its me or just how they are. The symptons are lumpy idle and always idles around 1000rpm. Dosent seem to rev round quickly enough in 3rd .. i feel like i hav...

I ran a powertek one from ebay on my s14 and was perfect held boost well and had it for 2years with no issues.

There about £29 on ebay.

One of the best for the money.

Sounds like too much damage for the car to ever be the same again.
