Re: help and advice on this mr2 (potentially purchasing on Sun)
Well he says the Speedo dont work, now if that don't work every time you boost it it will go into limp mode as ECU wont get speed signal for more than 3secs. Can be a cheap fix if its just the sender that gone but if its the nylon cog inside the gearbox like mine is its a pretty expensive fix :evil...

Re: Wheel Setup
I have staggered 18's. Not by choice, they came on the car and i'm saving for a nice set of 16's or 17's. That said, the 18's don't feel as bad as I expected. Don't feel any heavier than my old 17" Enkeis. But I don't like how big they look. For context, this is my 4th MR2, and i've used 15's, ...

Re: help and advice on this mr2 (potentially purchasing on Sun)
This car was for sale on ebay about 1.5 months ago. If it's been bought and put up again in such a short time, I would be wary. edit: saying that, it's the same pics as the original ad and still in Reading, so looks like it never sold. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1996-TOYOTA-MR2-2-0L-Turbo-GT-S-/16181...

And change your ecu temp sensor, as it's probably not been done since 1998.

My Rev 3 makes a lovely, loud induction noise if i do say so myself. I'll try to get a video recording.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Clutch Pedal Dropping
Mike, did you ever resolve this? Having very similar on my Rev 2 turbo. Sorry mate, not on here very often these days. To answer your question, yes I did get it sorted back in 2012. Rogue installed a new seal kit to the clutch master cylinder whilst the car was in for other unrelated work. However,...

Mk3's definitely appeal to non petrolheads and those that want a reasonably sporty/economical convertible. When I spot a mk3 I wait to see if they notice me first

Re: Noob Queries
Look at doing a full service if you can't see when they were done.
And as said the o2 sensor. And I'd also add coolant temp sensor to that list as it will also effect mpg.

I can only recommend the genuine gasket, which is a layered steel item i think. Had leaks with anything else almost immediately.
