Thank you both. I cleaned up my iacv a while back when trying to suss my cold idle issue, it looked good and moved freely. So I will try to figure out setting the tps and also check the ECU condition. This is behind the boot carpet is that right?

Sounds like I have similar issues to you. My old Rev 2 turbo had a rock steady idle at all times. My current rev 2 turbo sounds very similar to yours. Well, kind of. I can leave it sitting on idle happily. But if I come off throttle or dip the clutch the idle will sometimes dip to 500 or lower. Then if i just tap the throttle to bring the revs back up it will hold idle perfect again. It's just a bit all over the place and it's starting to bug me! ...

I'm pretty sure those fronts will rub on the suspension strut.

Watching with interest as I have a similar problem to your second one. I've tried cleaning my iscv and next will be trying coolant temp sensor. Have you checked for fault codes?

The car also has traction control, i don't know if that makes any difference!

I don't have a timing gun Peter but thank you. Is there anything else I can try? If I unplug the cold start injector switch should the idle change? How about any of the other relevant sensors?
