[Mk2] [Turbo] Reaching 14PSI on actuator alone Rev 2
Rev 2 turbo is reaching 14PSI boost just on the (standard) actuator. TVSV is blanked off, boost controller switched off, should only be about 7PSI I thought? Didn't always do this, only since back together with rebuilt engine. Only difference I can think of is the exhaust cam was retarded 6 degrees ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Gear lever not returning to centre itself
New spring made no difference, and it's that stiff hose wouldn't help.
Only other thing I can think of is if either of the shift arms were bent during engine removal/refitting but don't know how to tell what angle they should be at.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Misfires/stumbles under boost with rebuilt engine
Good shout on the leads but turned out to be the coil pack. It was split in several places, got a new one (pattern part) for £40, lasted less than 10 miles before complete failure, had to get RAC to drive me back to house to pick up old one. A phone call to Toyota and £120 later :eye: it's running g...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Gear lever not returning to centre itself
My gear lever doesn't return to center itself from fifth or reverse, have to move it over manually. Box is E153 with LSD. Filled with MT90. Didn't do this until I fitted new engine with front and rear poly mounts, brass bushes in shifter cable ends, rotated cube to non worn side. Is there a spring o...

No they were only caused when using the 2 step limiter.

Play in drivers seat backrest
As title, have play (front to rear) in drivers seat backrest, about an inch or so.
Can't remember if it's always been like that, passengers seat doesn't do it.
Any ideas?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Misfires/stumbles under boost with rebuilt engine
Had it out again to try a few things, was stuttering as normal but after a while pulled so well it hit fuel cut, around 15psi, this was just on actuator pressure. Reset ECU and adjusted FCD and tried again today. Not quite right but still revs and boosts OK, was hitting 15/16psi, again on actuator p...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Block test/sniff test - have to do it with engine running?
Have bought a Block Chek, the instructions say to put it in filler neck when car hot and with engine running.
When I take the cap off coolant pours everywhere. Is there any way round this or are they no good for MR2s?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Misfires/stumbles under boost with rebuilt engine
Have been careful with it while running in, but as Peter says the rings need to bed in properly, only get so long to do it before cross hatching wears off.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Misfires/stumbles under boost with rebuilt engine
Put new plugs in gapped to 0.8mm, worse than before struggles to pull from 4k.
No error codes showing.
Will try coil pack then leads.

Re: A good boss kit?
I bought a cheap one that claimed to fit but didn't, quality was poor as well - don't want it to fail!
Got a Momo one in the end - http://www.b-gdirect.com/momo-hub-boss- ... c7728.html mine was second hand for about £25.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Misfires/stumbles under boost with rebuilt engine
It's showing codes 12 and 13, these might be caused by my 2 step limiter, when I fit new plugs I'll clear the codes and not use the limiter and see if they still come up.
Has a decat so can't be that.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Misfires/stumbles under boost with rebuilt engine
Have ordered another set of BKR7E, will see if they help before I buy a new coil.
Also forgot to mention I retarded the exhaust cam 6 degrees, don't know if that could affect it.

Re: Smoother shifting
Where did you get the poly bushes for the shift cables? I have brass bushes fitted and it is hard to get reverse and go from 5th to 4th, the stock bushes were fine but fell apart when I took the cables off.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Misfires/stumbles under boost with rebuilt engine
I'm getting a misfire/stumble when the boost comes in/revs are up. It will boost and the revs do climb but not smoothly. Didn't do this prior to changing the engine with rebuilt one (standard build bar steel head gasket). Running actuator pressure (10psi) till engine is run in. Would normally suspec...
