Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Engine revs raising on warm idle
Two proper sized female blade connector+wire is perfect to attach to to TPS terminals and make measurements/adjustments. I think IAC would need a disassembly and cleaning. A multi-meter check is not enough as there is no feedback from it back to the ECU. I cleaned mine couple of years ago as a prev...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Engine revs raising on warm idle
No worries, let us know. Also, I gutted one cheap aftermarket TPS sensor out of curiosity, it was different internally than the genuine 89452-22090, and didn't pass all multimeter checks listed in the manual. Since then I got a genuine known good used one as a spare. Cheers i have previously replac...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Engine revs raising on warm idle
Hi, When the ECU is in learning mode after battery disconnect, you would have higher idle, but still, it should lower when the engine warms up. I would check the following as the below have affect on your idle speed: - Intake air temp sensor (~2.3k @ ~20C) - Clean IAC valve + its setting on both si...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Engine revs raising on warm idle
Hi, summary below; Rev3 engine / ecu. Got the car out after the winter Cold idle at about 900 - 1000rpm, as always has When the warm idle kicks in revs raise to 1200rpm instead of dropping to about 800rpm. * Looked for vacuum leaks and couldnt see any but still changed most hoses * Checked for error...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Boost but no power and fault 21
so ill summarise so its quick to read. Car makes boost (shown on boost controller) to 1.2 bar but absolutely no power from it, no urgency. Car smells a bit rich. Originally this issue was intermittent but now all the time. Code 21 - lambda sensor shows. Bought a denso DOX-0101 to replace it like oth...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Best initial bite brake pads
I want to improve my handbrakes bite as such. It was right at the minimum on the last MOT, being in the kitcar ive done soem slight tweaks to the mechanism but am limited.
I think at the time the initial pads are just whatever I could source so im after brake pads with known good cold bite.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] alternator adapter cables
Just to give this an answer. I bought an adapter for 3 pin alternator plugs off ebay.
You'd think we'd sell it in the UK but apparently not. Cost £14 delivered from Australia. No adapting needed, plug n play.
The loom can now take either alternator.

[Mk2] [Turbo] alternator adapter cables

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Alternator - How to ?
Then just reverse, I would have some sandpaper just to clean up the bottom pivot mount as it can be tight so will help remove any build up there. This is because there's a bushing in one side, if you push the bushing out a little it will slot right in. The bushing will compress in again when you ti...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Alternator - How to ?
Although my engine is in a kit car, I found it easy. 1. Disconnect battery, pull out plug from alternator, undo nut and remove 2nd cable from alternator 2. undo bolt on top of alternator that holds it in the tensioning bracket/ bolt. take it fully off and out. 3. Loosen bolt on bottom of alternator,...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] stud info for Manifold - turbo studs??!?
Yeah, they are really a one use item. Installation and removal deforms the nut back to a rounder shape so they don't 'bite' as hard into the stud on further installations. A new set of OEM nuts should sort it :thumleft: cheers for confirming. rung toyota... £7 a nut    So ill pop and...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] stud info for Manifold - turbo studs??!?
ones that were originally on the car. No squishy bit but do look like an OEM type of nut.
The ones Im looking at are similar. This potentially explains them coming loose then.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] stud info for Manifold - turbo studs??!?
Do you just need to replace them? If it's for a Gen3 then I think I have a set of 4 new OEM ones somewhere. Let me know, I'll check when I get home. IIRC, manifold side is M12*1.25, turbo side is M10*1.25. No I dont need to replace them (luckily) but the current nuts I have keep coming loose and he...

I don't really believe anyone in this anymore. So much emotion involved from both sides with blurred facts. Im sure both are lying and telling some truths. As for the Conversation recording, With Busters permission (as he was recorded), Pete could legally publish it for us to hear and that would cle...
