I got those ones for my Rev3 turbo and ECU has been fine since.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What could cause this (video inside)

Out of interest where did you get the new lambda sensor and what price? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-4-WIRE-OXYGEN-O2-LAMBDA-SENSOR-FOR-TOYOTA-MR2-MRS-CELICA-RAV4-YARIS-COROLLA/380402943013?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 wired in and cost £13. At that price I could...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Got boost but no power

found the cause of this last weekend. The turbo to manifold gasket was shot, massive leaks... but still behaving weirdly and correctly on different occasions. The reason for this was I had a turbo blanket on, so sometimes it would clog the leak enough to allow the boost to build quicker and of cours...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What could cause this (video inside)

As typical with anything...you post it and solve it. I found the exhaust gasket between turbo and manifold leaking massively and why hadnt i seen it before. Ive got a turbo blanket on so its was muffling it and sometimes clogging it enough to give me boost. I probably didnt notice the additional lag...

[Mk2] [Turbo] What could cause this (video inside)

https://youtu.be/CWsfm5yPjZQ video is with bridged terminals. The car smells rich, at Idle you can smell it from the exhaust, even after hard run MPG is hard for me to get because I don't use the car often enough. Also boost; 1st and 2nd generally ok, but can play up in 2nd, if you put foot to the f...

[Mk2] [Turbo] DIY methods of testing for Vacuum leak

What it says really, what success have people had? After changing lambda and checking over water temp sensor and both now ok and good, i think im left with either 1) vacuum leak - possible as idling about 1000rpm now 2) ECU repair just didnt repair it Id prefer option 1 but need to find a way to tes...

Re: Anyone have a Rev3+ ECU I can borrow / test with?

rev5 can be tricky as lots changed that year. There is a number on the ECU, what is it? Rev5 turbos are not that common so it's possible you have an NA ecu. The rev4+ had different plugs/layout to the first 3 revs, rev5 had other changes too. Do you know the year of the turbo engine? pics help for ...

not the aircon temp sensor is it?

If it is....also the bin was appropriate, no air con :D

Re: Anyone have a Rev3+ ECU I can borrow / test with?

Hiya, We most likely have some on the shelf if you are local to Hertfordshire and would be happy for you to pop up and test them. Feel free to give us a call on 01442 601301. We have quite a few ECU's on the shelf but if you can let us know whether it is turbo or n/a and what year it then we can ma...

Re: Anyone have a Rev3+ ECU I can borrow / test with?

I forgot to put location. I'm in Poole. 3s-GTE I'm running a rev 2 with rev3 conversion. Are all ECU's Rev3+ the same? (pin wise) I think the ECU may of been out or a Rev5, as he found out the rev3 conversion was runnign a SARd board in it so took a Rev5 ECU and put that in with the conversion. (I t...

Anyone have a Rev3+ ECU I can borrow / test with?

Im unsure If i have a lambda or ECU issue.

As I had the ECU repaired recently, Im wary that the ECU just make not be working correctly even post being repaired.

Happy to donate beer tokens....and of course buy the ECU if required and for sale

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Got boost but no power

Would I be showing boost though if the actuator was stuck open?
I can feel the slight increase in power just not as much as normal

I went round and did up all hoses a bit more last night. What vacuum pressure is there meant to be at idle?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Got boost but no power

The car seems to boost and sometimes is normal, other times it's like there is no power. I have a boost controller and the gauge is showing boost of 1.2bar, when the car has power and doesn't. It is a rev3. No nginr codes other than 42 and 47 which I expect as I don't have ABS on the car and the car...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oxygen Sensor Differences - Error code 21

Easier solution implemented rather then all that wiring. I found that my cabling didn't even have a Pin in the ECU connector for the Lambda sensor heater wire, so I got a pin from an old plug and then soldered a 6k Ohm Resister + a 1.5k Ohm resistor in series to it. I then put this in the correct po...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oxygen Sensor Differences - Error code 21

After a lot of investigation I have the answers. The sensors work the same...however the ECU is expectign a heating element to the Sensor and will throw the error 21 if it thinks the heating circuit is open or short circuited. so having a 1 pin Oxygen sensor means its always been running rich  ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Oxygen Sensor Differences - Error code 21

The Gen 2 / Gen 3 use different oxygen sensors, in terms of 1 is 1 pin and the other 4 pin (2 heating wires) when I got my engine (gen2) which had a Gen 3 wiring conversion it still only had one wire for the oxygen sensor, I don't know how but it did and confirmed that wire went to the OX pin on the...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] ECU Capacitors

I actually found it hard to find anyone to do PCB repairs, the 1st place had the ECU almost two weeks and with this good weather Id had enough so told them id collect it and find someone else to finish the work, 2 weeks for 8 capacitors is too long. Anyway the work was horrible, blatently not a hot ...
