[Mk2] [Turbo] Intercooler thought
Hi guys and girls The other day I was reading an intercooler vs cc debate. Now someone on there was running there intercooler on the otherside of the engine bay to keep it as far away from the exhaust/turbo heat. What I was thinking was could you run an xs power intercooler on each side? Pipes could...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 0-100mph lightly modded
Standard boost?
What revision?
Cheap or sticky tyres?
Hot day/cold day?
LSD?
wet?
So many factors.
around 14-15 on a std rev2. Not 100% sure

[Mk2] [Turbo] Anyone heard of the following
Tokyoperformance
They are an export company. On their site they have a nice re3 carrib blue tubby, very tempted. Does anyone know about tokyoperformance?
As they are exporters how does it work with importing the car, when it gets here what happens?

The carrib blue mr2 turbo thats on Pistonheads!
Lots wrong with it even though he makes it sound good. Wasted 5 hours driving there and back today.
Just spotted the black rev3 on Ebay at Shw imports. Its the one with the hks gt turbo. Has anyone been to see it? What does anyone think about it?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] How reliable and economical can a tubby be?
I guess it's like everything, if you look after it and service it then it will keep going. I was looking at engine parts and to rebuild it would not cost that much if you do it yourself. I worked out that it would cost £175 more a year to run a tubby over a 172 Clio, based on the difference between ...

Re: Thinking of coming back to tubby ownership
In the risk of sounding stupid. Could I not just buy another rev 3 and buy the street brawler turbo kit and that alone give me a load of bhp.
I have also heard a lot about the ST205 cc. If this alone was added to a rev 3 what increase in bhp could you expect?

Re: Thinking of coming back to tubby ownership
I had a 4.0 Chim and it was not as fast as the rev 3 I had. It started to slow at 110 where the tubby was 135.
Mx5 just is not the same.
Its either a tubby or 944 turbo.

Thinking of coming back to tubby ownership
Hello Having sold my rev3 nearly 2 years ago I am now wanting another tubby. I have an Elise 111s and although magical on the twisties it does not match the punch the tubby had. I am toying with the idea of selling the elise and buying another rev 3. Obviously wanting more power than before, I have ...
