Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What Intercooler To Buy?

I bought the TOYOSPORTS one off ebay. Had no fitting issues. Running it with the std fan till I get a bigger one and have no issues. Made it pull nice and hard. No heat soak noticed even at high boost setting. If you were to add a bigger fan, shroud and rogue twin fans to engine lid this will still ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Wheels

Has anyone got any pictures of an MR2 with standard wheels on but with a polished rim? Would this look good or not? Also, I have a set of 16 inch Work Equipment split rims for sale. These are the same as the 17 inch ones that were for sale recently. They are in good condition with flaking of some pa...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Unichip/ebc

Right ok, I get why you keep it now. Always good to have the extra security. Next question is once I have sorted extra cooling and fitted a decat pipe and fitted the unichip where is going to be the best place to get it mapped. I am based in Milton Keynes. Any idea of cost to map and expected power ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Unichip/ebc

Can it not be replaced with a boost gauge to monitor that?
Seems silly to have it just for that.
I have also got a vems afr gauge and wideband sensor, inlet temp sensor, exhaust temp sensor to fit to keep an eye on things.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Unichip/ebc

If you were to have a unichip fitted to a car would you do away with the existing ebc? If the unichip is setand mapped for 1 or 1.2 bar for example changing the boost setting on th eebc would not be good would it? Also what sort of power would you expect on a 1995 rev 3 tubby with Apexi induction De...

[Mk2] [Turbo] IC, is this one any good?

Just spotted this on ebay, looks to be the same as the XS power one but with better clips and hoses.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Power FC questions

Thanks for the replies. I have looked at both and the G3 seems great but is too much for me and is only really going to be a benefit if I was running biger turbo and massive bhp. The PFC will be ok for my requirements. I will just have to keep a lookout for secondhand pfc's and get the berk inbetwee...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Power FC questions

Hi I have just bought a 1995 Rev 3 gt t-bar tubby. So glad I have another one, it's been a few years since my last. It has the following current mods, departure exhaust (not pro), Apexi power intake,Blitz SBC boost controller. I want to make sure all is ok with the fueling to ensure the engine is ru...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rebuild finished, engine fitted and......at last on the road!!

It sounds to me like you could be running the timing 180 degs out.
Stand back, then go and check all the timing, wiring etc. You will get it working spot on soon enough.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Does mileage matter on an mr2?

If it's well looked after does it matter that it may have done 70,80,90k.
How long will they go for?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Bhp or not Bhp

No no no. You could lock brakes on most cars but that does not show they have good stopping power. They may stop you once from a 100mph but good brakes are ones that can do this over and over again. Such a misconception that good brakes are ones that you can lock. You could probably lock brakes in a...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Bhp or not Bhp

Are replacing with rev2 + calipers discs and pads? If not they won't be up to the extra power. You need the rev2 + parts and put in some carbotech pads.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Bhp or not Bhp

Better option.
Sell it and buy a rev3 and mildly tune that.
If your rev1 is on std brakes you will struggle with the extra power.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Bhp or not Bhp

Why not put the unichip on the rev3 ecu and map them?
Berk exhaust has to be the exhaust of the momment.
xs power intercooler.

If he does the above won't he need rev3 injectors?
