Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] YellowStuff Pads?

HAHA, I am very hard on pads. I got through a set of redstuff in 80 miles on track and a set of greenstuff in 4 weeks on the road.
I find the Carbo's fine.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Rebuildable suspension help.

I posted up a while ago about this but am still struggling on finding an answer. I have some rear rebuildable shocks off Skywalker and am picking the fronts up soon. These will be fitted with my TRD inserts I have. Upon taking the rear shocks apart one was fitted with a KYB insert and the black nut ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] YellowStuff Pads?

Massive thumbs up for Carbotechs from me. Had them on for a while now and not a bad word on the performance side to say about them.
They have never squeeked as some people find.
They are dusty though, only downside though.

I have had the same problem with these awful tyres! I am running 40psi in the rears just to give some ridgidity to it. Would never buy them again!

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] t1r,bridgestones or your choice?

I have heard nothing but good things about the Hankook RS2 tyres. They are sold by camskill and are marketed as a track tyre but are usable on the road. Heard a few say they have nearly the same grip as Toyo 888's when warm plus they don't wear that fast. Thats what is going on my set of 16's when r...

Re: Not liking this weather

Smoothly does it. Just be ultra smooth and you will be fine. People have such bad opinions of the MR2 in wet/snow. Not super in the snow but not bad. If it snows that much and your worried just let some air out the tyres.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Which wheels

Greenstuff pads are not good. They will die very quickly on track.
Splash out and get some Carbotech pads and run them on plain discs, don't bother with grooved or drilled.

It regulates boost in 1st and 2nd. Disconnect it to get full boost. Makes a big difference.

I have a single one on mine. The single is for up to 20psi iirc and the dual for over that. Great bit of kit.

Rev 3 tubby engine with box.
Std 245 bhp and lsd if it comes with the box. You will want to change your brakes though to rev3 stoppers.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Running in a rebuilt 3S-GTE and what oil to use???

For running in keep well away from any good oil! You want cheap almost crap oil, the reason being you want things to bed in and thus not good oil. Change it after 100 and 500 miles. Both oil and filter. After this you can get slightly better oil and leave it in for 1000 miles. You can then step up to...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] My blitz dsbc boost controller ISN'T accurate!

Try setting the gain to 0. I had mine at 18 when I got it and it would spike and creep a lot. Now have it at 14 and its fine.

Spiking?
Are the gauges you have able to show peak or is this just what you have seen with your eye?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ST205 pump rebuild service

Yes, wear to bearing will cause and increse in friction and thus reduced pump speed resulting in loss of flow. It wold not make a difference to a point but after that you would be losing out on flow. My feeling is if there is a grumble or noise the bearings are shot and on the way out.
