Mine is set up to pump from the core to the rad but that is because mine is mounted on the gearbox so has the head pressure from the core above to help the pump.
The expansion bottle connects to the port on the pressure relief cap on the core.

I've got evo iv recaros on standard mr2 rails. Your need to look at my.project thread for photos. While the mr2 rails was still on the mr2 seats,I welded a bar across the 2 separate rails then unbolted from mr2 seat so the spacing stayed the same.
