You're not far from these guys. They built my forged 3sgte motor, and it's been faultless. http://www.scholarengines.co.uk/

Re: My 400whp saga, 373whp after mapping.

Unlucky mate, I've got a phenolic spacer on mine. I got it from ATS racing, he told me in an email when I asked the question about gaskets, that it doesn't need any either side of it, so I'm using mine on it's own as recommended by Scot. Anyway good luck next time, It's surprising how nervous you ge...

Re: My 400whp saga, 373whp after mapping.

With all the time, money and effort we put into these engines when I took it to the mapper I told him to stop at whatever comes first, 350hp or 1.5 bar. I couldn't bear to hear the engine screaming so an hour later after I'd been to the burger van he told me he'd stopped at 1.35 bar and it was makin...

Re: My 400whp saga, 373whp after mapping.

Great fun to drive, every time i pickup the keys my heart starts to beat quicker and i think, is this the day i die lol. It actually drives just like the mr2 but you have this old 1972 shell around you. Bit of a wolf in sheep's clothes. It gets the power down better than the Cosworth powerd mk1's an...

It's a long old road glad your nearly there. I'v only just finished mine after about the same time as you, 359hp at 1.35bar. Remind me what turbo and boost you're going with.

Ryan, good to see you back about. Can someone tell me how cooling fluid gets sucked back through that 0.9bar cap.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Water

Had a look today. I can see how the coolant will overflow into the catch overflow tank, but I cannot see how it is possible for it to suck fluid back through the cap. It's only one way.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Water

Thanks mate, I have a 0.9 bar cap on there now but I also have a 1.3 bar one kicking about. Could I try that to eliminate the worn cap idea.

[Mk2] [Generic] Water

If I fill up my water to the top then put the cap back on. Then drive the car 10 miles till it's fully warmed up, will the water still be full to the top once it's cooled down. Or would the pressure of the hot water have pushed out some of the water. Therefore allowing me to always add more each tim...
