Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oils

I talked to someone at Rouge Motorsport, and he was of the opinion that a low mileage or newly built engine could use fully synthetic 5w/30. But as my engine has quite a lot of miles on it, I may be better using 10w/40 semi synthetic. As for the gearbox, he recommended 75w/90 gear oil.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Oils

I've tried googling and searching the sites, but cant seem to find a definitive answer to what is the best thickness of oil to use on a rev3 Turbo. I also need some gearbox oil if anyone can recommend either that would be great. Thanks.

Engine Block Numbers

Can you get any information from the number on the block? I bought a 94 turbo off a guy a couple of years ago. He'd been told it had a Celica ST205 engine in it when he bought it. I've got the engine out at the moment, so thought I would check the number on the block to see if I could find out anyth...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Running without a thermostat? Any knock on effects?

I'd take the water temperature gauge and it's sensor out and send it to someone like Speedy cables to get it calibrated, they'll probably be able to change it over to Celsius for you at the same time. you could get a thermometer and stick it in a cup of boiling water with your sensor to check yourse...

I don't know anything because no one is allowed to talk about these big players in the 3sgte world on this site. I'm not having a go, really i am not. I'm on no one's side. :(
