So the cam cover query? Sorry Paul, no the cam cover hasn't been swapped.... you did tell me to ignore the post if it wasn't what you mentioned :P And not just the grind Peter, shells and what not as well but by the sounds of it, that wouldn't equate to £250 for yourself.... £90 for grind and polis...

Re: Fed up :(

I've been to an engine rebuilder today and it will cost me around £250-£270 to get my journals re ground, depending on how bad the damage is. I have been offered a Rev 3 engine but i know that my current exhaust manifold will not marry up to the head, I dont particularly want to change it since ther...

A rough time scale on driveway?

Some of you may have seen/read my "Fed Up" thread but i am determined to make it to JAE! I have had a nice offer from someone on the forum for a rev 3 lump with loom, passenger side loom and ecu. How long do you reckon it will take to swap a rev 2 for a rev 3 engine and all the electronics...

Re: Fed up :(

the timing wasn't advanced no. when you advance the timing, you tend to make the engine go bang due to the vast increase in heat it generates in comparison to running it at the recommended settings. I have a theory, it might be wrong but was wondering what you guys think. This has all happened after...

Re: Fed up :(

These are 4 sets of shells across 2 engines.... If i buy a Rev 3 engine im afraid my toyosports manifold might not match up with the head. And i will have to get different loom also look at the bigger picture though, sell the manifold as it will be no use to the turbo engine you ultimately want and...

Fed up :(

I haven't been driving my MR2 any longer than a total of 2 years (more likely 18 months) and this is the 4TH!!!!! TIME!!!! that i have gone through a set of shells. The car is making that consistant knocking noise under acceloration. Its a shame because i was planning on getting a rev 3 turbo engine...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] 2GR-FE conversion against 3S-GTE conversion

Well does anyone have any idea on the cost atm for someone to provide a turbo lump and fit it?

Or is there a lot more to it than that?

[Mk2] [NA] 2GR-FE conversion against 3S-GTE conversion

Good Evening people,

Has anybody had one of these 3.5ltr v6's fitted to their 2 or perhaps driven one?

Strongly considering the idea of an engine conversion atm and i want to see whats going to give me the biggest gain in hp for money whilst keeping it reliable.
