Re: Exhaust question.

Well the exhaust is on and thanks Kaboota it sounds great, it now has a sports cat that is more free flowing than a standard cat and the car feels better for it. [Gazza_DJ] Bear in mind that it will still fail an MOT Cat test as it was fitted with a cat as standard.[/quote] Not strictly true there i...

Re: Exhaust question.

Hi John,
Had a look online and found Fast Lane Styling in Romford, they are going to custom build a sports cat for me for about £140.
Thanks for the info but that would mean me going underneath the car and doing some work for a change, made me break out in a cold sweat just thinking about it lol

Exhaust question.

I have a slight problem with joining my back box to the rest of my system, namely the 430mm cat section. The back box and the cat currently on my car is one piece with no flange, the new exhaust has a 3 inch flange where the cat-decat section would fit. The down pipe flexi section looks to be about ...

Re: If it ain't broke...

This was on an SD1 3500 rover, As it was October/November I thought I'd change my antifreeze, nice simple job should only take 45 mins max so off I go and undo the drain plug to get rid of the old stuff and then refill, easy but! Now I never touched the fan, didn't need to. So I'm running the engine...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Std speaker setup

The active amps are located behind the panel below the passengers side rear quarter light window if they are still there. Also there are two systems I am aware of (1). Single sub system. (2). Duel sub system. I'm sure if there are other system configurations someone will let you know. I removed my c...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] you think you have probs with wiring lol

Here you go try these http://www.polevolt.co.uk/acatalog/Small_Superseal_Connectors.html Get rid of the bullit connectors and the block connector and it looks like you have built a bonfire out of coloured twigs and your just waiting for a spark and it's only a matter of time before you get one. Star...

Re: what paint

Most if not all rust converters contain tannic acid or phosphoric acid or a combination of the two, tannic acid converts iron oxide (rust) into ferric tannate and phosphoric acid converts iron oxide into ferric phosphate. Both are less reactive than iron oxide, other ingredients include a wetting ag...

Re: what paint

First remove all loose rust then paint on kurust from halfords it turns the rust into ferric tannate, a bluish black solid surface that can be sanded, overpainted etc, prime the surface with etch primer and allow to dry as it only works once it is dry. Some etch primers are available with zinc in th...

Re: Top hinge drivers door

Thanks for the replies. The breakers round my way think they are selling gold plated parts. I wanted an anti sway bar for a mondeo, wanted to charge me £60. Got a new one from unipart for £17. Also as I was their I asked about MR2 parts and was told they just crush em. And it seems like it's an inco...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] what are these parts ???

Picture 1, I would also say the switch is for the alarm, to protect the engine bay. Picture 3, would say something like refer to service manual to renew timing belt. Also timing belt last changed dd/mm/yyyy or mm/dd/yyyy depending on the japanese date format looks like 1st nov 2006 or 11th jan 2006,...

I put these in the front doors [http://www.alpine.co.uk/p/Products/type-r-speakers36/spr-60c] they come with a mounting spacer for the main driver that needs a bit of a trim but no mods to the door cards are needed, the tweeter's come with several options for fitting I went down the stealth route an...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Fitting a double din

Ok i've read a few reviews on the Xtrons but they were mostly bad with things like sound quality, radio reception and the user interface being the main reasons, but I've not had a chance to play with one to judge for myself. 45W X 4 maximum power = 15W X 4 RMS approximately but that's at full volume...

Double din size =

Double din size = 180mm X 100mm. Single din = 180mm X 50mm. 180mm is the width and 100mm or 50mm is the hight. The depth can vary dependant on make and model. The front panel/screen of the head unit may be bigger, the same size or slightly smaller than the main unit and if it is moveable, ie to inse...
