So I though I would check out my steering wheel before ordering a new one, horn connection sticks out, do I need a special boss? (MK2 REV2)

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] boost control and boost spikes.

Sheppy, I have the same boost controller, it has two boost settings, both are adjusted independently. If you are on 'boost one' turn the adjuster on the back to set the target/max boost then flick over to 'boost two' and set its target/max again with adjuster on the back. Both will remain set, I hav...

Re: Which track days?

Javelin and MSV are both great, I've also done a few day with 'Apex Track Days' they tend to be a bit cheaper and also a bit more cautious - more red flags / stoppages. Looking at their website there are no future dates tho, maybe not around anymore? As for tracks Blyton Park is superb for beginners...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Turbocharging pressure sensor - code 35

Yeah it is indeed, HKS Fuel Cut Defender, taps into the signal wire from the turbocharging (boost) sensor to the ecu, modifies the signal to change fuel cut from ~12 psi to ~17psi, in-conjunction with an electronic boost controller currently set to 14 psi.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Turbocharging pressure sensor - code 35

Yeah, mine turned out to be a wiring issue to do with the Fuel Cut Defender which was inexplicably located behind the driver's seat, moved it next to the ECU and soldered it in properly - problem solved

ECU boost control question

I gather from reading around that boost is limited in 1st and 2nd gear to ~7 psi and if the ECU is happy it will operate the TVSV in higher gears which will bleed off ~3 psi before the waste gate actuator giving boost of ~ 10 psi. (MK2 REV2) My question is, how does the ECU know what gear is selecte...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Turbocharging pressure sensor - code 35

Hi folks, I recently fitted an electronic boost controller, have a FCD fitted. In the process of setting it up but I have a re-occuring error code 35. (did manage to over boost at one point giving me codes 34 & 35) Checked the input to the sensor - 5 volts as it should be. I can reset the ecu (p...

Re: Standard springs, same on Turbo and NA?

Thanks Nic, appreciated I've got some aftermarket springs on my Turbo, but they are just too firm, going to swap to a set of standard springs with my adjustable dampers in the first instance to test the other end of the spectrum (as I figure they will be cheap/easy to obtain hopefully) I'll look for...
