It would appear mine is running on a 4age one anyway. Can anyone check their SC?

Re: Mr2 SC 4AGZE dying

Mechanic finally got round to having a look at it and thought it might be the ignition coil. I fitted a used coil and ignitor today and it seems to be fixed. She idled for 40mins, was cutting out after less than 10mins. I also just drove 20km but got a check engine light after about 2km. I'll read c...

Mr2 SC 4AGZE dying

Limited knowledge here…so I need a bit of help. I changed the timing belt side engine mount the other day. Car was running perfect before. Had to remove coolant bottle, ignition coil and ignitor for access. Put it all back together. Car started fine the next day, I drove 1km and got petrol, then d...

Re: Fuel Capacity

My fuel gauge works but my low warning light doesn't. Anyone know what causes that?
I got caught out testing to see if it worked not long after I got the car

Re: Drivers footwell leak from windscreen vents

Well I had a proper look at this earlier and found the rust hole. http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp141/Tsporter_photos/8c328fd56ecb1db9fecf13be44f7fd25_zpsmuuk3jgu.jpg That picture is taken from the vent below the windscreen on the outside. The camera is pointed towards the drivers wing. It's in...

Re: Drivers footwell leak from windscreen vents

Yes weve had experience of this recently but only on the passenger side, drivers side has a lot more stuff hiding the seam. I'll include details of how to do the passenger side in case anyone else wants to know, its fairly easy to remedy, remove the glove box lid & inner glove box compartment, ...

Drivers footwell leak from windscreen vents

Hi lads, I've had a leak into the drivers footwell for a while and have discovered it's coming in from the vents under the windscreen. If I pour a jug down there you can see it running down into the drivers footwell to the right of the accelerator when the carpet is pulled back. I can't see any bloc...

Re: Leak

This particular rust spot is a bit of a pain to fix but it can be done. Removing the dash is a long fiddly job but it is not particularly difficult if you take your time. Good luck. Have you done it? More info please???? Like where is it and how much welding is involved, etc? I haven't had any rust...

Re: Leak through windscreen vent

If you've got a rust hole in the skuttle, that sort of tunnel like area where the window wiper assembly goes, good luck in fixing it, without cutting out the top of the skuttle access is neither on impossible. :( If cleaning the drain doesn't help, its probably removing the dash to access it from t...

Leak through windscreen vent

I have traced my soaking drivers footwell to rain coming in the front windscreen vent. I removed the black grill and can see lots of gunk. I'll take off the wheel arch and try clean it but I assume there'll be a rust hole in the firewall too. Anyway can I duct tape up the grill hole as a temp measur...

Apprently my 87 Tintop SC came with windy windows, no spoiler, only side splats no skirts, but has electric mirrors...there weren't many boxed ticked on that spec sheet!

Discontinued in Toyota, might have to try a used one from eBay as it's pretty bad.

Perished Door window rubbers

Can you still buy new drivers door window rubber (Tintop model) or what have you guys done to seal up and stop leaks? Water is getting in there and down into the drivers footwell.

Yeah I never updated. It was the switch that was stuck. Quite a coincidence that it happened just as I changed the cable. All working now, thanks for the reply anyway!

For future reference the part number was BC3143. It's a QH part and it fitted perfectly.

I've just replaced the drivers side handbrake cable and now I have no handbrake light on my dash. Any ideas?
