Re: [Mk2] [Generic] ferrai style gear change advise needed

to make it flush, you have to cut off the original mounting tab off the gear stick shaft and re-weld it further down the shaft. jmachling your probably right over time, the cables will stretch - but i think this would be a LONG time ..... and as long as you design some clearance you should be fine. ...

[Mk2] [Generic] replacing CV boots

anyone got any experience on doing this ?

Having looked at the manual it seems quite involved , since it looks like you have to remove the whole axle then res-assemble the cv joints which also looks very fiddly??

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Original subwoober quality?

There is a separate amp for each factory sub. IMO when i got my system up and working the extra bass was good ( for the size) from these factory box's when you are parked up - HOWEVER once you are moving , the general road / exhaust noise considerably swamped the low frequencies. Once i get round to...

Re: 200sx?

just thought i'd add my 2p worth ! As a current owner of both these cars, rev3 turbo and s13 both modded - the mr2 is MUCH MUCH faster in 1st / 2nd but then it feels very similiar as the s13 after this ( strange - i cant quite work out why this would be ? ) The MR2 handles better BUT is much stiffer...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] split rims refurb Q'(sorted, thanks peeps)

A couple of suggestions: how about the cylindrical flap wheels you put in power drills ? Available in various grades. twisted wire brush wheels, available also in brass so not so agressive black & decker powerfile ( belt is about 10mm wide, ideal for intricate areas ) i think any power tool - P4...

Re: [All] [Generic] Flashing spot lights?

havnt done it yet .......... but plan too since i know what you mean with pop up lights ! Thinking a simple way of doing it is a diode feed ( eg: 1N4007 ) from the positive of the main beam light connector to the positive of the fog light relay coil. BUT i havnt checked the wiring diagram yet to see...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Temp Display in courtesy light. Now Installed!

looks factory fit ! Very neat job. Which temp module did you use ? a thought - if your into your electronics you could rig up a timer that automatically switches between interior and engine bay temp input say every 5 secs and signals which one is which by having a led by the side of the display........

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Coilovers are on! Better Pics..

sweet ! ahh a car can never be too low.

I agree also, the front rims are too close to comfort to the spring itself. On mine it was about 2mm clearance with a 7 width wheel and et42

i feel a new group buy coming on ....... spacers & low profile ally trolley jack !

cosmos blue, fingers crossed that was your problem too !
£2 to fix :D

Club, it is at the rear of the car as the drive shaft comes out of the gbox on the drivers side - but really you need the car up on axle ramps to slide underneath to get at it.

Re: K-Sport Coilover kits for MKII

shine .... Spoke to Apex and basically you can go as low as the car allows ! The chap couldnt say 100%, but was sure the droplink attachment was on a threaded collar to allow adjustment. With my limitated suspension knowledge doesnt this need to be the way anyway to allow adjustement ensuring there ...

Re: K-Sport Coilover kits for MKII

Hey Drew, good point about the drop, will call Apex tonight and check on max drop and also how the drop links are attached. I've ordered loads of stuff through Apex before, for the 200sx and their service is 2nd to none - hence not going through the other route. will post result when called, cheers ...

Re: K-Sport Coilover kits for MKII

spoke To Apex today regarding the spring rates, and do you want the good news or the good news ? Within reason you can specify what spring rate you want ( the actual rate needs to be verified with Ksport before ordering, which is fair enough ) and this is done for the same price ! custom spring rate...

Re: K-Sport Coilover kits for MKII

Also interested, since very good price for coilovers - but wonder if we can specify softer spring rates ?

Drop link attachement / issue as mentioned by Roadwarrier - a good point, also what is the max drop available on these coilovers?
