Re: My speedo isnt reading right what can i do?
My speedo started reading much lower than it should have a few months ago, there was no scale to it, just random speed difference , I had to replace a couple of the capacitors in the back of the speedo. Now it's pretty much spot on even with 17" wheels.

Re: Leftovers - Android OBD1 Group Buy
I ordered one direct from zf162gt. It turned up last week, only had time to connect it up and test while at idle, going to be a week or so before i can get it connected up so that i can take it on a drive. Great bit of kit, nice to see what is going on and also could be useful for people to compare ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 120mA parasitic drain
If you remove a fuse and it drops, put it back and doesn't increase again it can be a relay it powers not closing until the power is taken away from it. I had that with the electric windows.

Re: Speedo Problems.
I'm sure the connection from the sender goes to the speedo the to the ecu from there. I just replaced 2 capacitors on the back of my speedo, one you could see it leaking onto the board. My speedo was always slightly out then one day it was miles out. Replaced the capacitors, it's now spot on against...

Re: comprehensive rust proofing?
Last year I used por15 and painted under the sills, the lip, the rear of the will in the arch then over coated with hammerite as por15 fades in the sun. Then removed the plastic bungs in the sill (should have done before the por15) used a rust treatment in the area behind the seatbelt at the bottom ...

Re: 60mm exhaust on 3SGTE - what issues might it cause
When I had my rev2 turbo conversion I had my na mongoose exhaust modified to fit. Later on a swapped it for the turbo departure 2 regular. So 2.5 inch to 3. I noticed slightly earlier and quicker spool, also on the rev2 ct26 it cannot hold 15psi throughout the Rev range. With the mongoose it dropped...

Re: Speedo started miss reading (Fixed now, faulty capacitor)
Speedo working spot on now, there are 3 Capacitors on the speedo, all 25v, the big one at the front is 100 Microfarad, the one on the end was 6.8, the one at the back is 2.2. I replaced the 100 and 6.8 Microfarad cap's but it was the 6.8 that was faulty, you could see rust/leak were the board meets ...

Re: Speedo started miss reading (Fixed now, faulty capacitor)
Thats what i thought at first but the oedometer is spot on so the speedo cluster must be getting the correct signal.
Seems on the US forums they have found faulty capacitors on the back of the speedo to be causing low readings so i might take that out on the weekend and take a look.

Speedo started miss reading (Fixed now, faulty capacitor)
I have a rev2 turbo in MPH, the speedo was always pretty much accurate, recently noticed that its under reading massively now. The oedometer and tacho is correct so i presume the the speed sensor etc is ok? Are there any electronics on the speed cluster that could need replacing? Or is it possible f...

removed mine during summer, not had any issues.
You can blank them or just get a short bit of pipe and connect the two.

I use Toyotadirectparts.co.uk
Not got around to mine yet although I have had the fun of removing and reinstalling when I found the screws were seized.

What's the part code of the bracket. I took mine off to replace but couldn't get the screw out, only have a drill but no vice so might be tricky.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Gear lever not returning to centre itself
I had a similar issue on my first mr2. If I remember rightly, on the gearbox side of the gear selector arms there's a square cube. By pot luck we removed that, it was gunked up. Cleaned, refit and worked as it should. Going back 8 years ago so can't remember any more detail but someone else maybe ab...

Apexi filter arrived just over a week ago, got it fitted today, in the box was the filter, gasket, bolts, cost £51 in total. The other way is using a voltmeter, here's a guide, there are others out there. http://knowledge.sonicelectronix.com/car-audio-and-video/car-amplifiers/how-to-adjust-amplifier-gains-using-a-digital-multi-meter.html Idea is download the correct frequency file for the amp, think its 60hz for sub and 1...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] apexi power intake
Mine turned up today, didn't get charged for duty so only cost £50 shipped from Japan, ordered just before Christmas, it shipped a few days ago so not bad considering it was over Christmas/New year.
