Re: Wheel size recommendations
I drove my Mk2 rev 3 turbo as a daily driver for about 4 years, using fronts 205-40-17 and rears 225-45-17. Never had a problem.

Re: Decision time...
When my Mk1 was in need of lots of work I simply gave it to an enthusiast who had the time to do something worthwhile with it. It was either that or spend too much time trying to flog it for almost nothing, or just let it sit on the drive and fester even more. Looking back I think I did the right th...

Alright there Gordy? I remember you from days gone by! Hello Ollie, I ran out of time to argue so I've not posted much recently!!! Nice to know the ol' place is still ticking along nicely. Now I'm logged in I might go post a bit and try not to annoy the trusty masses. Best bet is a post in the item...

What's the score with Turbo MOT emissions?
My 1994 Turbo just failed the MOT on emissions.
I thought that cars made before 1997 and imported in tiny numbers could not be tested for emissions because their engine type is not mass-market and hence not in the MOT centre computer?
What's the true situation?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 4wd mr2 conversion- can it be done?
Not really wanting to do this but would be interesting if it can be done or if it has already. ...snip... What do you guys think? Prop-shaft through the petrol tank? Oh, but hang on, doesn't the GT4 prop shaft exit backwards... ...and blah, blah, a dozen other reasons why it can't be done properly ...

he gave me a friendly flash with his hazzard lights before he pulled into a pub car park. I would bet that he didn't want to go to that pub, but instead used it as a convenient way of getting out of the challenge. Most people with big-money cars expect to be given right of way or expect to be able ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] want a tubby, scared of reliability
if i get a tubby is it going to be a ticking time bomb? Yes, they are absolutely terrible. They are totally unreliable, drink petrol like it's going out of fashion and are so unstable that it will kill you. They are a typical Japanese design that is underdeveloped, unreliable, hideously expensive a...

Obviously it's difficult to tell without an inspection and test drive, however it seems about the right price for the car / year / spec.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Looking to rejoin the MR2 ranks
If I had 2k spare I would consider a good Mk1. The contrast with your Vectra would be stark, and provide you with interesting motoring at opposite ends of the spectrum. Then, when funds allow, you could consider plonking the mk2 turbo engine into it and go Porsche hunting.
Just a thought.
