Re: car vinyl what u think??

The conversation in this thread made me smile :) Anyway, my opinion: ideally any graphics must flow seemlessly with the base vehicle shape to form a single coherent design. The graphics as initially proposed above are completely at odds with this ideal. They will just appear to sit on the paint and ...

Re: Rev2 vs Rev3 Tubby

Block problem? Trawling the net for info rather than hear-say, it seems that they had a temporary quality problem owing to the casting core shifting. They found it and sorted it out. Only shows up with 400+ hp and poor tuning + bad detonation. It's a red herring. Only a fool would base their car buy...

Re: What's It Called slash Can It Be Done

Hi all, Was just wondering this. You know how the MR2 has a flappy gaitor round the gearshift, and something like, say, an Aston has a nice aluminium gear stick surround thing which shows the 6 or 7 positions the gearstick can go, and doesn't have a gaitor? Can this be done on an MR2? What would I ...

Thanks alot for that. I wouldnt mind getting a modified one, because as u say it saves me doing it. Are there any problems that are worth looking for? (Things that usually go wrong!) This site and www.mr2oc.co.uk have a great wealth of info so consider spending a few hours slowly poking around in t...

Re: overheating problem, please help!!!

I don't want to be the harbinger of doom, but it sounds like a potential head gasket failure. Top up your coolant to a known point, and go for a reasonable run, then see what's left. Don't thrash it, and keep an eye on the temp gauge. If the temp gauge suddenly drops to zero it could be that it has ...

Re: Just had new turbo fitted, how long to run it in/boot it?

With 30 k on it the turbo is fully run in! Always warm your engine slowly by driving the first few miles with small / medium throttle openings and low / medium revs and no / very low boost. Once it's thoroughly warmed through.... party time

Re: Should I complain?

Yes, of course you should complain. Do it in a straight-forward and workman-like manner. Don't get stroppy or emotional. Know your facts. Know what you want out of it (re-alignment, refund, whatever). Complain promptly, ensuring you have good reason why you did not complain there and then. Do it now.

Re: Tubby v's Elise

Boys and girls, it's like comparing apples and oranges. Tubby = capable sports-GT. Fine for day to day activities. Well developed and will be around in 200,000 miles if maintained. Elise = road / track sports car. Compromised for day to day activities. Will fall to pieces before 120,000 miles no mat...

Re: A supercharger that someone might want ???

Actually it is not factually or technically inaccurate. Turbo timers are a marketing gimmick and nothing more. All you have to do with a turbo car after driving it hard is take it easy for the last 5mins of your journey or sit in the car and let it idle for a bit. Given that it is illegal to leave ...

Re: With a black roof... (last page)

Not normally a fan of kitted cars, but that looks rather nice. If it were mine the only thing I would change is the bonnet colour to be body coloured, and hence restore the coherence of the overall design.

The black + polished wheels really work well.
