Re: Spare Engine connectors near alternator

Try plugging the alternator back in, start the engine, and prod the yellow wire at the alt with a multimeter, and at the N1 connector, both sides of it. You should be seeing 14.5v at all of those points of the yellow wire with the engine running, but i don't think you will be. Report back with your...

This has cured the hunting and lumpy running..... I have an exhaust leak so need to fix that next but can any one advise how to adjust the idle ...

Re: Hunting on idle and poor running when warm/hot

TPS may be something worth checking. I will check this but cant find my feeler gauges at the mo - would this be a possible contender for both lumpy running and hunting? Did you replace the thermostat as a part of your engine rebuild? no - but I did check the thermostat with boiling water prior to r...

Re: Silicone hoses for 4A-GE?

If I remember correctly (IIRC) I purchased 1 metre 10mm red hosing and 2metre 3mm red hosing... The 10mm red hosing is only for the hose between the rocker and the t-vis and is approx 6 inches long and the 3mm hose does the rest I bought off ebay from: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/autoperformanceonline...

Hunting on idle and poor running when warm/hot

I currently have another thread running on here in relation to dashboard lights illuminating but I am sure this is completely separate - I have in the past witnessed a lumpy idle with the revs hunting up and down which I cured by bleeding the coolant. However one restoration and full engine build la...

No Continuity...

Re: Spare Engine connectors near alternator

Checked engine fuse all okay -

I have removed the 2 10mm bolts that hold the loom under the injector rail - cleaned the bolts and connectors and surface on inlet manifold....

Still no joy!!!
