FINISHED
All done ! 8) http://imageshack.us/a/img835/7440/yjl5.jpg Got to say I'm really pleased with the end result, ok it's not Kei Office or Bomex Drift but it's unique as far as I know. BIG THANK YOU to everyone on here that gave support and encouragement, I was wavering when it came to drilling the boot...

ah man, i wish you hadn't drilled it :( fantastic job though!! i'm guessing you missed my post regarding the CT-1 bonding stuff?? i guess it's only a bootlid after all  again, looks great :thumleft: Needed drilling dude, certainly wouldn't rely on that just held on by bond! Boot lids are ten a...

Looking good there ! welcome to IMOC ( Are they Skyline wheels ? ) steering wheel yes go for Momo or Nardi personal ( love mine ) Although I've no direct experience of this, if you're thinking of replacing rear speakers, don't bother just disconnect them - apparently they mess up the sound imaging;...

big progress today on what's now referred to in our family as 'spoilergate' WARNING - if you think you're going to bolt a SAAB spoiler straight onto your '2 in half an hour you are badly mistaken. There has been a LOT of swearing involved, but I think it'll be worth it. biggest pain was making a pap...

Progress today - took hours to make a template to right shape when spoiler was bent to fit curvature of boot , then drilled nine holes in my boot , nerve wracking !! Initially bolted in, needs a few adjustments with screw lengths etc. Should get alignment as perfect as possible over the next week or...

Staying black or going body coloured? Really pleased to see such innovation! Staying black for that retro feel - had my brother take a look today, shape reminded him slightly of an original 911 rs from certain angles, really transforms the rear. Appreciate everyone's positive comments on what is on...

You could perhaps use a couple of layers of double sided black foam tape, it'd help raised the level and hold it firmly in the correct position. yes was thinking the same thing - today I used double sided tape stacked up to see how high it needs to go, will probably have to use a moulding strip of ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Saab 99 rear spoiler on Mk2 update 2/1/13 finished!photos page 3
Ok latest development . As Nic pointed out the spoiler curves up at the top corners, turns out the outer sides drop too deep as they go towards the back so they butt into the rear wing corners, raising the spoiler up at either corner. One solution would be to cut some rubber off the base of the spoi...

Rogue . superb
Visited Rogue for the first time this summer to have a timing belt changed. Couldn't have been more friendly helpful and informative. Identified my car had a rarer type of belt tensioner, my local garage wouldn't have known what the hell to do. Came out cheaper than I thought too. Totally worth the ...

Looks really good :thumleft: only comment would be that the upper rear edge of the wing looks slightly curved from the rear view. You're right it is, caused by having to bend the front corners slightly forwards to match bootlid curve line. Not really what I wanted but I can live with it, I might st...

Have you thought about tiger seal? Personally I would want the security of it being screwed on as well however a chap at work has a high rise wrc copy spoiler on his bug eye that was stuck on with tiger seal three years ago and its still on now apparently preparation was the key - again I must stre...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Saab 99 rear spoiler on Mk2 update 2/1/13 finished!photos page 3
Hoped to mount either side with metal brackets but having issues with screws on brackets butting into rear wing corners. Even pop rivets would create a contact problem since the spoiler fits so snugly. So I'm left with a choice of drilling holes in boot and use the screw mountings already embedded i...

So finally I had a crack at it this afternoon, took a few hours with being careful to align everything. There are always going to be some issues when trying something like this, not like it's OEM fitment, going as well as it could do though, apart from my scratching paintwork ( underneath where spoi...

This is a good idea in theory, just looking at the rear picture and the side picture you took and it does flow with the shape of the car.. But when I saw the picture taken from above it put me off. It might be because it is not fixed yet and the tape is still there, so you may change my opinion whe...
