Car won't start, any ideas?

Hey, gen3 MR2 turbo, hasn't started in about 2 years (it did run back then, but had a bit if a misfire), I've put new leads/plugs/fuel/battery in, turns over fine, but I'm not getting a hint of life from the engine. I've checked that I'm getting a spark at the plugs and I can smell fuel from the tai...

Re: [Mk2] [NA]Help please..... Ways to drain the petrol tank ?

Disconnect the fuel hose at the fuel filter and bridge B+ and FP+ together in the diagnostic connector Thanks - I also need to do this - I'm assuming same procedure on all years/revisions? Can I get access to the hose from the top of the engine bay? (It's currently in a location where it's very tri...

Re: Possible to buy new catalytic converter? (Rev3 turbo)

I had bought a downpipe off GTSChris approx 10 years ago and had it fitted to my car. I got a company to fit a 120 cells per square inch sports cat into it . Cost £180 for CAT and fitting last year. You can see it in my garage pictures. Dont know where you are based but for anyone else in my area t...

Possible to buy new catalytic converter? (Rev3 turbo)

I can no longer get the old girl through the MOT (It passes Lambda/HC tests without a cat, but the CO is way too high) - anyone know where to buy a genuine/non-genuine cat from? New or secondhand would be fine. Are there aftermarket high-flow variants available? Would Toyota be able to source an OEM...

:-s Well you know what assuming does don't you? What exactly are you talking about as that comment doesn't make much sense at all. I'm elephantine in both stature and memory... You hated the PS3 because you had to install game files to the HDD. Let me refresh your memory... http://www.imoc.co.uk/fo...

Things don't change in here! :D Thai Boxer, I assume you won't want a PS4 _OR_ an Xbox One - because with both machines it looks like you have to install game files onto the internal hard drive before you can play them - you _definitely_ won't buy a console that does that...will you? Unless you've ...

Removing TOMS sideskirts

I'm getting some paintwork done and need to remove the TOMS side skirts so they can be repaired (a stupidly high speed bump doesn't mix well with a low car) - before I start, is it as simple as it looks to remove them or are there a special tools/hidden bolts that I ought to be aware of..?

Re: Test drive crash

can not have been insured then if it was sorned :-k My MR2 is insured but SORNd. (Soon back on the road though, been moth balled last few months!) Although I doubt they'd pay out if it was used on the road - passenger might be eligible for compo if the car was indeed insured, although I suspect it ...

Re: PlayStation 3 'hacked' by iPhone cracker!

Exactly! I do like: Now then, how's he going to manage to bring PS2 emulation back for those PS3s that don't have the PS2 GPU hardware? #-o :^o the ps3 doesnt have ps2 hardware of any sort, its an emotion chip emulating the software same as the 360 its all software based emulation. Which is ...

My old Spec 6 paddle clutch was a pig in traffic (shuddering in stop start driving) - is the Helix better for this?

Re: MX5 vs MR2 Turbo and a few other things like Skyline GTR

Lol, beat me to it. There is some mystical force that makes the left foot 1000 times harder on the brakes. No matter how softly, and how slowly you're going, you seem to stop so hard you fly out of the seat  Your left foot is programmed to stomp the clutch pedal, hence it'll do the same to t...

I've managed 306 miles and still have 1/8th of a tank left - this was solely motorway cruising using no boost at all - they can be almost frugal ;)

Re: Damp start problem - coil?

I tempted fate by posting in this thread - the problem returned, starting sounding like a Subaru yesterday in the rain (running on 3), luckily i was seconds from home so coasted most of way back. Taken the cap off today and it was damp inside (the cap seems to be missing one of those rubber drainage...
