[Mk2] [Generic] Mk2 Rev5 Turbo - under-seat-sub and speaker q's
Hi all, After 10 years of other cars, I've bought another tubby (a rev 5 sonic shadow) and a rev 5 NA for track-bashing. So good to be back in a MR2! Question on the 'Sonic. It has the half-leather / half-alcantara seats, I'm hoping to fit a Vibe CVENC8-V4 under each seat - I had one in a previous c...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Horrific fuel consumption and low boost
Difficult to say as I changed out old oil at the same time... doh. Under no load the engine revs really cleanly. Seemed very good to start with once warmed up, but noticable under load (full throttle @ 1500rpm in third) that it's struggling to burn it all. Overall I'd say it's smoother thanks to the...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Horrific fuel consumption and low boost
Not got a spare AFM - so took it off the top of the filter box and gave it a good clean - presumably I can test it for resistance across two of the output pins or something? Put it all back together, changed the oil at the same time, gave it a quick spin - definately hesitant compared to how it shou...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Horrific fuel consumption and low boost
Hi Gurus :) My Rev2 tubby has been off the road (garaged) for a couple of years. Have recently spent some time getting it back to tiptop again, but have the following issue: Boost is limited - currently the best peak I've managed to get is .67 bar. It used to be .82-.86. Other than that the car actu...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Mk II Rev2 Ressurection
Hi everyone, My tubby has been in the garage for about 18 months and I'm looking to get it back on the road (I've owned it for 6 years). I've drained and refilled the coolant with fresh ForLife, got a cambelt & tensioner kit coming, new EBC RedStuff pads (I've freed up the callipers), new dropli...

Re: how to change plugs with TRC in the way??
On my Rev2 the TC unit is held on with 4 bolts (13mm socket from memory) - I've taken it off several times to change plugs, I can't see it being possible without. On mine, the bolts dont seem particularly heavy duty, so I've always tried hard not to do them back up *too* tight, but in 3 years with t...

Re: QJDynamics downpipes (the IMOC group buy)
Additional on my earlier comments: I had some problems with my fan kit - most of which down to my own ham-fistedness and despite getting emails asking for feedback, I only bothered to contact Jim about them this evening. He's taking my fankit and engine lid back, fixing the problems with the collaps...

Re: QJDynamics downpipes (the IMOC group buy)
Well I got my fankit =D> I paid at the beginning of April, and received the kit about ten days later - to be fair I was emailed by James that he had some better looking bolts on order for the fans, would I like to hang on for them?, so I did. Delivery wasn't too bad, I'm in the process of writing a ...

Re: Old tyre survey
I get around 6-8 k miles on the rear and 10-12 on the fronts. I always use SO3's. Maybe I'm not that far off then - My proxes last about 20k on the front - that's rediculous wear on S03s for such a small improvement in grip. They are a little bit better than the Toyos for me, but to be honest I onl...

Re: Old tyre survey
Nope, not reading it wrong - 5 soddin weeks and 1800 miles. All on A roads fer sure - if it was just the shoulders of the tread I'd accept it as too much 'enthusiastic' cornering. As it is the missus is well fumed that I had to break into pre-crimbo cash for new tyres and now I'm breaking into post-...

Old tyre survey
Not sure where this fits - but mechanical seems close enough for me :? Is it still possible to get to the old tyre survey information that used to be here? I only ask coz my second set of S03s (usually I use proxes) have 0mm (as in completely bald) on the back of my tubby in a little over 5 weeks - ...

Re: Intercooler Fan
If you short the two wires going into the sensor, that is meant to make the fan come on (I THINK). Does the fan come on with just the ignition? For example if you go on a run to get the engine hot and then stop, kill the engine and then turn the ignition back on (so the dash lights are on), does the...

Black import on way out of Leominster
Had a play with the above tonight (1st Jan) - much braver than me through corners, I think I had a fair bit more grunt though - anyone on here? Thanks for the wave when I pulled off love to know the spec too.
