Yes just remove the unit and put your hand inside it and see if the flap moves freely it should spring shut, I sprayed mine with gt85 and freed it all up..

Check the airflow meter isn't stuck I had the same issue ..

You can buy converters that screw into your arms so you can use hook type wiper blades, sand and repaint your original arms job done .

Just done mine recently they now look like new..
