[Mk2] [Turbo] Help With passenger footwell connectors

I've just removed the old passenger door wiring loom, and pulled through a new loom for folding mirrors. It was a bit of a struggle getting the loom into the passenger foot well past all the other cables, as a result I've now got an additional gray coloured connector dangling, which I don't remember...

Re: Rev 1/2 C One Spoiler

Price dropped to £30 collect. Got to be worth that for what I suspect is a copy of an N-spec spoiler that just needs to TLC.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Rear luggage boot light.

I believe this comes off the dome light circuit that is used for all the interior lights, and door open etc. So unless everything else has stopped working as well, I doubt if it's the fuse. The dome fuse should be in the frunk fuse box. The lamp holder in the boot is pretty flimsy, and I have had a ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Water

I'm a bit confused by this too. Presumably when the water expands it puts additional pressure on the valve in the cap and opens it to allow water to pass into the overflow. But when that reduces sufficiently the valve closes, and I can't see how water from the overflow tank can then get back into th...

Home for Christmas

Well, another deadline slipped, but as he was working on it until midnight on Sunday and delivered it on Christmas Eve, I didn't have the heart to give Derek a hard time. So, back for Christmas... http://www.mr2.org.uk/images/mr2_Christmas_2018.jpg As it was a nice dry day today, I spent some time c...

Re: Help with finding an ECU

Have you tried MR2 Ben in Deeside (sales@mr2-ben.co.uk) he used to have quite a large stock of used ECU's. Not the cheapest, but if your stuck he might be worth a try. Have you opened up the ECU to check it's not the old leaking capacitor issue which is quite common on older ecu's. Easy to spot by t...

Re: Paul's Rev2 turbo

Things seem to be moving very slowly at the moment, and I had to compare the latest photos with the previous ones to really spot the work that had been done since my last visit. Basically the areas that needed repairing have been primed, and the car taken downstairs for final flattening and a power ...

Re: Paul's Rev2 turbo

Visited the body shop this morning to check on progress. Whilst I was there, I gave the front bumper bar a quick wire brush and a good coat of Kurust to try to keep the rust at bay. The new aircon condenser and receiver/drier arrived on Friday. You can clearly see the sorry state of the existing con...

Scott two piece motorbike leathers

I've lost a bit of weight, so these are a bit too big for me now. Scott two piece black leathers. Good solid leathers made in the UK with a short zip at the back to join them together. Armour fitted to knees , elbows, and shoulders, with expansion panels in all the right places. Well looked after, g...

Rev6 Rear lights

It's Marmite time - Rev6 rear lights. Some folks love em, others... I bought these on a whim from another IMOC member a while ago, but never got around to fitting them. The cars in for a respray at the moment, so time for a clear out to raise a bit of cash. These are led outer rings and normal tungs...

Re: Catch can options

Having read an article about the back pressure problems that can sometimes arise if you downsize the breather pipe or use one of the small bore catch cans you see on eBay, I decided to keep to a large diameter pipe. http://www.mr2.org.uk/images/mr2_engine_bay4.jpg The problem was finding a large bor...

Re: Rear firewall thickness

It's been a while since I did this in my Turbo, but I seem to remember that the part of the firewall that I drilled through to keep the shoulder straps close to horizontal was made up of several layers, making it a bit more substantial than the bulk of the floor pan. I've a feeling I also used sligh...
