Re: Intermittent engine light

Long shot, but it's a double sided PCB, did you solder the capacitors on both sides?

Re: Paul's Rev2 turbo

Taking advantage of a couple of days without rain, I've installed the second Mirco RTS seat, so now have a matching pair. http://www.mr2.org.uk/images/mr2_both_mirco_seats_installed1.jpg http://www.mr2.org.uk/images/mr2_both_mirco_seats_installed2.jpg For some reason, I actually found it harder to f...

Re: Paul's Rev2 turbo

Small update. The new Mirco RTS passenger seat has arrived. This was made to order as I wanted it to match my existing driver's seat. I ordered the seat on the 6th June, and it arrived from the factory in Poland 11 days later. Now that's what I call an amazing turn around. So the next job is to get ...

Re: Paul's Rev2 turbo

Marmite time. I picked up the dash trim parts from AquaGraphix yesterday and have started putting them back together ready for replacing my existing dash trim panels. http://www.mr2.org.uk/images/mr2_cf_bling.jpg The photo doesn't really do the finish justice. Too much shine and not enough light on ...

Re: Paul's Rev2 turbo

Time for a long overdue update. Things never seem to go according to plan. Before taking the car back to the body shop, I succeeded in grounding the new Aerowave front lip when coming out of a back lane near home. Fortunately the damage wasn't too bad, and was rectified when the body shop attended t...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Speaker and door soundproofing

Just click on the link in my previous post and work your way down that page until you come to the section about changing my door speakers. I don't know how much experience you have of installing new speakers, so here's a very basic guide in case it helps. Having removed the screws at the bottom of t...

Choose you...

Re: Won't start

Glad she's running again. But just in case you didn't notice, if I remember correctly at least one of the PCB boards is double sided so you need to solder the caps on both sides to ensure a reliable contact.

Re: Won't start

Take the ECU out of the boot open the lid and have a look for corroded / leaking capacitors. :thumleft: +1 if the caps haven't been replaced already on a rev 2 that's high on the list of possible culprits. The engine management light was randomly flashing on mine recently along with the C/O relay c...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] How to jumper wires in the IC fan ECU?

If you disconnect the plug going into the temperature sensor on the engine lid the stock fan will run continuously. You can then simply swap fans, provided your new fan doesn't draw substantially more current than the stock one, which is unlikely. The wiring to the stock fan should be Blue with Red ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Does removing the 15A EFI fuse prevent injectors from firing?

Looking at the wiring diagram, whilst the circuit opening relay switches the fuel pump on, the actual power feed passes through the EFI main relay first. So pulling the EFI fuse should also disable the fuel pump.
