Re: Paul's Rev2 turbo

It's been a difficult year on the domestic front, and as a result I've had very little time to enjoy or work on the car this year. But that situation has sadly been resolved, and to try and cheer myself up a bit I've bought a new 2 wheel toy. Well I say new, it's actually 20 years old and a bit roug...

Re: Leftovers - Android OBD1 Group Buy

Have you tried contacting Jean-Francois Breton who designed and made them?

https://plus.google.com/111250371580496249827

You should find contact details in his profile. It's a great bit of kit, and the associated Android app seems to receive regular updates.

Re: Flare Holder Removal - solved

Success. The flare holder does in fact clip into the trim panel. The clue came when I found a holder advertised for sale in Japan. Here's what it looks like. http://mr2.org.uk/images/flare_holder.jpg It's actually the hook on the right hand side of the clip that holds it in place. If you look on the...

Re: Flare Holder Removal - solved

That's a drag, as I wanted to swap the clip over to new trim piece I bought. time for a bit of lateral thinking.

Flare Holder Removal - solved

OK, I must be missing something really obvious, but for the life of me I can't see how to remove the flare holder from the passenger well trim panel, short of breaking it.

Re: Rev 1/2 C One Spoiler

No I'm afraid I never fitted it to my Rev 2. I was really after an Autopista spoiler, and was assured that this was one. But when it arrived it was clear that that wasn't the case. I did toy with fitting it instead, but then I managed to get hold of a genuine Autopista spoiler so never got around to...

Pair Sparco Seat Frames

Pair of SW20 Sparco adjustable seat frames. I've used them with Cobra Daytona and Corbeau Forza Sport seats. I think these are fairly rare and were originally imported from the states, so not sure what they are worth. Let's call it £110 ono for the pair collect. http://www.mr2.org.uk/images/parts_fo...

Rev 1/2 C One Spoiler

Solid, but needs some minor repairs and TLC Was originally sold to me as a copy of an Autopista, but it clearly isn't and I've now been told it's a C One spoiler for a rev1/2. It's quite a bit higher than an Autopista. Price dropped to £20 collect http://mr2.org.uk/images/parts_for_sale/spoiler1.jpg...

Re: INSURANCE car wrote off. now what? ?

If it's a straight no fault accident and the third parties insurance company accepts responsibility then you're far better off trying to get a decent deal out of them as that won't spoil any no claims history you've built up, and won't result in your current policy being cancelled as a result of you...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] aerowave front lip

Yep, I've taken the plunge Ed, and am having the new lip fitted by the body shop when the car goes in for a full respray next month. I've also bought new tbar rubbers to try to cure the driver's side leak once and for all, but can't make up my mind whether to fit these before or after the respray. P...

[Mk2] [Turbo] aerowave front lip

Can anyone confirm that an aerowave front lip is a straight fit on a rev2 Turbo.

Many thanks

Re: Throttle body gasket part no

When I stripped my rev2 turbo throttle body for cleaning a couple of years back, I bought two gaskets from MrT
T22271-88381
T22215-74380

From memory I think the second of these was the rubber "0" ring type gasket for the "hot water jacket".

Re: N/A Mk2 - Engine dies after 30 seconds

I had a similar problem a few years ago with my rev2 n/a. It started off cutting out intermittently and wouldn't res start unless you left it for 5 -10 mins, but got progressively worse and started cutting out every time after a couple of mins. Tried pretty much all the thing you have, including cha...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Presume this is a capacitor gone? - would it cause these issues

While your at it I'd be tempted to replace the other 10mf capacitor on the smaller board as a precautionary measure even though it may not look as though it's leaking at present, as these two caps seem to be the ones most prone to leaking. If you decide to desolder the old caps, rather than simply c...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Suspected ignition problem, dizzy and rotor??

My understanding is that the resistor pack is used to lower the voltage supplied to the fuel pump to reduce the fuel rate. So when maximum fueling is required the resistor pack is switched out of circuit by the fuel pump relay. The fuel pump relay never actually switches the pump off, just selects t...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Suspected ignition problem, dizzy and rotor??

Sorry to hear that Ed, it did sound like everything was sorted. Are you getting a full set of warning lights when you turn the ignition on, just wondered if it might be an immobilizer issue. I assume there are no error codes stored. Are the ignition leads OK and pushed fully home, king lead in parti...
