Re: Rev 5 Spoiler Bolts
The gold coloured ones are 10mm heads m8 thread there probably 15-20mm long, jobs like this are why it's worth owning a Vernier but as I'm guessing you don't get something small like a cocktail or lollipop stick put it in the hole till it bottoms out, mark it and then measure with a ruler or tape th...

Re: Markstevieandmads Budget Turbo Project: PART TWO
I'd just pay rogue and have it done, £160 is expensive for the job but it's an ar$e if a job and at least when it's back its done and right. An extra £160 on the bill is not really much long term it just feels a lot because of the pressure your under a lot of which should hopefully be relieved once ...

Re: Markstevieandmads Budget Turbo Project: PART TWO
If that is the case then you should just be able to enlarge that hole on the manifold slightly to let it sit flush.
You need to get a bare manifold and test fit it without a gasket against the head and it should sit near flush to the head

Re: Markstevieandmads Budget Turbo Project: PART TWO
Chin up mark it shouldn't be too hard to sort, how was the repair done last time drilled out and helicoiled? Id be looking at fitting a timesert which you can do in situ and are far more reliable

A set of normal axle stands will be fine, just put some breeze blocks or something else heavy duty under them to raise them, saves you spending on stands for a one off job.

Owners Manuals Wallets
I've got the above I want to give away as I'm no longer an MR2 owner. As I've let my premium membership lapse I can't post this in the for sale section, could a mod move it for me?

Re: all the people with a crunchy gearbox
That's not a bad price for a full box refurb, albeit you could diy it gearboxes aren't that complex but you do need the relevant preload figures for the numerous bits and some tools you wouldn't normally have in your toolbox. Too put it in perspective 2nd gear synchro is a common failure on the gene...

I did indeed buy two but sadly they were both broken during a house move so I never got to use them and I've moved on from my mr2 to a 911

Re: MOT Emmisions failure Rev3 Turbo!
Id get some cataclean for it. It's about £15 put it in 10 minutes before the test and take it for a hard drive and have the tester do it as soon as you arrive.
I used it in an old rev1 that had high co and it worked well, no idea how long it lasted afterwards though

Sad to see you go Rob, some of the engineering you've shown on your build has been outstanding.
More importantly, what bike you getting?

If you want to stay na then fit a v6, it'll be cheaper in the long run than trying to make a blacktop beams fit and is fairly straightforward to do

Re: [Mk2] [NA] ignition problem and no spark?
The st2 wire goes from the switch to a block connector in the passenger footwell, I'd test for continuity from he started pin on the switch to that block connector and if you have continuity there then from that block connector to the starter relay in the boot.

[Mk2] [Generic] rear foglight wiring
my latest mr2 is an import and as such doesn't have a rear fog light. it has rev 3 lights so im going to quad mod them to integrate the fog light, i have obtained a uk rear switch to activate them and im happy wiring them up using a 4 pole relay. my question is my speedo unit has the tell tale symbo...

There's a custom exhaust place on the industrial estate where you work Phil, there quite helpful I've had a few bits and pieces done by them

On the end of the ignition barrel is a plastic switch which is what the key activates you can access all the pins on the back of it for testing
