Re: Aluminium front splitter - prototype made w/pics
These all seem like good ideas, but I cant help thinking that the material being used is to thin and rather than push the car onto the road they will just bend. Has anyone made and tested it at speed, ie at about the 100mph mark? I will be doing this for a track car but I was planning on using 5mm t...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] My Aerodynamic rework: Giving the MR2 downforce
Do any of you lads subscibe to the free Track Driver magazine? They did an on going feature on an exprienced racers car, an old RX7, concentrating purely on aero features. They addressed all the features this lad has done and a few more, backed them up with proper testing and track lap times. Think ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Polycarbonate window fitting
Could you not just use a low setting on a heat gun?
I doubt it would work, I needed to heat it to 180 degrees C for about 10 minutes to get it to settle properly on the window.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Polycarbonate window fitting
I fitted the passenger side window today, took a while as I had to make up some brackets as well but worked out good in the end. I removed all the window mechanism, the only bit I left in the doors are the guides to keep the glass against the out rubber seal. I made the holes for the bolt and the ke...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Polycarbonate window fitting
I have bent the polycarb the same shape as the window, but whether it holds the same way as the glass I wont know until its out on the track. Time will tell I suppose, thanks for the reply.

[Mk2] [Generic] Polycarbonate window fitting
I have searched through quite a few sections but I cant find any info on this. The car is for track use only so I am not interested in the windows going up or down, but I would prefer them to stay sealed at over a ton. I was just wondering what people did to secure them in the up position, I have ke...

Oil in spark plug sockets
I did a service on my 3SGTE yesterday and there was about 30mm of oil in the spark plug sockets on cylinders 2 and 4 before I removed the plugs. I was guessing it was the socket seals on the cam cover but wondered if anyone had found another reason for it?

5SFE aftermarket exhaust manifolds
Has anyone ever tried one of these on a Rev 3 3SGE? I know Fuijitsu made one a long time ago and there also seems to be the usual OBX and other US made cheapy items that are of dubious quality. Its for a track car so I am not for spending a fortune but I wondered if anyone had tried one and seen any...

Re: knock on a power fc
98 is very high, the alarm is usally set for 60 and I think at 98 you would have heard the engine knocking and it possibly would have been misfiring as well. It might be worthwhile checking the sensor is tight enough in the block if it happens again. There is a graph for cold fuelling and timing tha...
