Re: Suspension measurement question
Hi, My set of Koni Shocks came with Lesjofors springs (no, I'd never heard of them either). I'm afraid as they're on the car and the car is far away, I can't do any measuring, but they added about 1.6 inch drop if I remember right. They were also black and unmarked as you have commented. However, I ...

Re: Smell and smoke with MK1
Tim, not sure there's a huge amount around there that should be making smoke! Does it smell electrical? How is the cars fuelling? (the fuel pump is around there)

Re: Sideskirt rubber seal fitting
Sorry, meant stick it to the sideskirt and to the body of the car? I think I will do both :thumleft:ð¼ Cheers all Ah! In which case - No... Just to the top of the side skirt. The side skirt bolts onto the car; gluing the seal to the car means when you have to take the skirts off, the paint will c...

Re: Sideskirt rubber seal fitting
Tiger seal :thumleft: Oh yeah, that's actually a good shout. Tellso, what do you mean by both sides? Do you mean apply glue to both skirt and rubber seal? If so, depends what the glue instructions recommend (yep, probably worth reading them! ). Some need applying to both mating surfaces and l...

Re: Sideskirt rubber seal fitting
The simple answer is yes, use glue to secure it in place and make sure you get it up to the ends so it doesn't flap while driving. I can't remember what glue I used though (and photos & documents for my car are a long way away!) but I'm pretty sure something like Loctite or Gorilla glue should w...

Have you got a record of what screws were for where and where they came from? May help those others looking to do similar.
I am seriously toying with the idea of making a powered USB hub thing to replace the ashtray by 3D printing a new frontage. Would be a nice solution to broken ashtrays!

Good move. I'd like to do the same...
Are you just doing it for speakers or running any other new wires?

Malcolm, I'm afraid they're neither!
The fronts are 4 inchers and rears - ones you're after - are 3.5 inches.

Looking forward to hearing how you get on! So Pete's driving back past where JAE was last weekend? Surely it would've been easier to have left it parked in a field in the showground for a week?

Re: 4AGZE Blowing Noise
If they were dropped, I think that could possibly cause what you're seeing. Even under heavy load, a good condition spark plug shouldn't do that, so something has happened to cause the shattering. Though having never seen this before, I'm speculating (though speculating based on some experience of p...

Re: 4AGZE Blowing Noise
Could you be more specific about the plugs? How are they shattered? Physical contact in the cylinder would be awful and I'm wondering whether they were damaged before they went in somehow (or while going in) and the thermal shock (getting hot & cool in the run cycle) has just meant a small crack...

Re: JAE 2017 - 31st August to 3rd September
Well, I'm stuck in London at the moment with a Mk1 that decided it would go this far and no further...  Sorry to hear that, Max. :( I think a GT86 is nigh. ;) I do hope you get home soon! Wicked times were had at JAE. :) Hi Lauren, Thanks, but that was Saturday morning when I was suppose...

Don't be too upset! If the bodywork is all good, the engine is pretty easy to take care of.

As posted in the 4AGZE blowing noise thread, these are the compression test values you're looking for: https://preview.ibb.co/b3J77Q/Screen_Shot_2017_08_20_at_15_59_59.png (make sure engine is cold and throttle wide open - those were the earlier steps) Probably not worth speculating on smoke cause t...

Re: 4AGZE Blowing Noise
Hi Alex, As you thought, BGB states 156psi for 4AGZE, with minimum at 121psi and maximum difference at 14psi. Looks like yours is within limits: https://preview.ibb.co/b3J77Q/Screen_Shot_2017_08_20_at_15_59_59.png Have you tried uploading the video to Dropbox, then getting a public link? If you've g...
