Re: Idle problem
Op also made it appear as if the engine was built to that spec before refitting? Engine was standard, and working fine. Was then removed and rebuilt as per mentioned spec in original post. Exactly as I thought before the usual bum bretheren's began to comment. The airflow characteristics have chang...

Re: Idle problem
They dont specify adjustment in the workshop manual however there is an end stop adjustment and adjustment of the bimetallic spring placement. Dropped my cold idle speed to 1400 from 2000. Still specialists know best.... The problem with that is that you've potentially cured the symptom, but not th...

Re: suspension uprade ?
I ran apex springs on my rev1 on track and found them fairly soft, probably quite well suited to road use

Re: Distributor Cap & Rotor Arm
You simply have to decide whether you want to fit genuine Toyota parts, or cheap Chinese. Each to their own and all that... Genuine Toyota it is then. Peter you mentioned the other day that Denso O2 sensors are available for around £40, are you able to supply these or would you know the Denso part ...

Re: Lambda/Oxygen Sensor volt test
With bridge you should see 0v-5v switching on vf1 at 2500rpm. At idle 0v indicates fault code is stored I think
With no bridge you should see 2.5v if your ecu is not trimming fuel. Ive got a handy link on laptop il send you when I'm home

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Hesitation at 2000rpm
I very much doubt he is helping or has helped, infact it appeared he didn't know much about the systems ability of testing using vf1 diagnostic terminal, its 0v/5v lambda switching test or fuel trim application. The original lambda switched ok or at least appears to when tested however its heater ci...

With no lambda sensor hooked up its far better, even though it "shouldn't make a shits worth of difference" when first starting up

The severe hesitation was induced by fitting a faulty lambda probe whilst trying to fix a high cold idle runs fine with no lambda probe
